Authentic German

I'm from Germany and find the Duke to be the most authentic German restaurant here in Cape Coral. The portions are more than enough to fill you and if not I would suggest the meter Thüringen Bratwurst, which includes one beer, and if you eat it all, along with all the trimmings on the plate, you... read more

This is a true report on this restaurant. The potato pancakes were the worst I have ever eaten. They were greasy and tasteless. Terrible. The veal schnitzel were tough, overcooked, with bland breading that just crumbled off the meat. The sauerbraten was mediocre and the gravy was possibly from a mix. Very hard to understand how previous ratings were real... More

The food is soo German. The flavours are exquisite and so fresh tasting. The service is truly friendly. They seem to remember all returning customers.

Had lunch with friends. Sauerbraten was especially good. The restaurant is small and there was only one servers working at the time, but because we arrived for a late lunch we were seated right away. Will definitely go back!

Had the pork hocks and they were tender and moist and delicious. Sauerbraten and schnitzel were very good also. Had the plum tart and apple strudel and licked the plates. Can t wait to go back.

very traditional taste in decor and after the taste of sauerbrataen and some German Beer, alongside of the Red Cabbage and Spaetzel, you must believe you stepped back to Germany. The Service by the Son's Owner was excellent and attentive. Would like to hear some traditional German Folk Music during our meal, but nevertheless, this was a nice find in... More

The atmosphere and food takes me back to where I was born and raised. There are some great new Schnitzel dishes on the menu, and the cost is very fair.

Small, family operated place. Went on a Monday at 7P and it was full. Short wait. Had goulash soup - very good, and schnitzel (veal not pork). Veal was extra $. Veal was very good but a slight notch down from my recollections of schnitzel in Germany. Prices were reasonable and service was fine especially since only the 3 family... More

I love it when the wait staff have a hint of an accent. It makes me think I am in Germany. The food was very authentic and delicious. It was the first time for our dining companions, winter residents. They were impressed and will return to try more German cuisine.
