Preferring to dine local vs. chain, we opted for Ben's. We were not disappointed. Its hard to give a diner an excellent rating but if I would give that rate, it would be to this place. The food was awesome, the service was quite good and the "attitude" of the staff was all smiles. The ambiance wasn't the Ritz but... More

Great place for breakfast, sausage gravy and biscuit is the best in the South. Fried green tomatoes, grits, all the best of southern fair. If you are from up North and want a good Southern meal with friendly service, Come on down!!!

Went in today with my father. He got the Jumbo Fish/Cod Sandwich and I got the Opened Faced Turkey Sandwich. My father loved his sandwich and homemade potato chips. I was pleasantly surprised on how good sandwich waz. Great bread and a ton of turkey. My server suggested putting the gravy on my fries and that was amazing! We had... More

This place is one of the few that has really good pancakes - both buttermilk and buckwheat (my personal favorite), both done to perfection. Their sausage patties are also excellent.

We were a party of 5 for lunch. The fish sandwich was very good, so was the chili. The pecan and bacon waffle was unusual and very good. The downside of our visit? The waffle at $8 was really pricey. The drinks? When I am paying $2 for coffee, I expect it to be fresh and hot. It was warm... More

Dear Linda C, Thank you for the wonderful feedback on our food. Our Pecan & Bacon Waffle is definitely unusual and very delicious. As for our issues concerning the cold coffee and not being offered a refill, thank you as well for providing that feedback. We do try to maintain a level of customer service to each guest and I... Based on reviews we came here for breakfast. Our waiter was prompt with a full pot of coffee. We are not sure the reason, but It took longer than expected for our food to arrive and we had finished off the coffee. It was worth the wait. The freshest and fluffiest biscuits and gravy, great sausage and eggs cooked perfectly.... More

Good Southern fried chicken-pieces were small like the chicken little ones at KFC but the crust and the moistness really made them tasty-it took awhile to receive food but that was because it was being freshly prepared-great! Next time we’re in Brandon area, we definitely will consider a return visit. Tammy(I think that was her name) was our waitress and... More

Speed here on a coast-to-coast trek across central Florida on FL Rt 60, when we found this gem on the east side of Brandon at the start of about five miles of cheesy chain eateries. Food was perfect, service friendly and prompt. A treasure on the road.

Tried this on a whim one Sunday morning for breakfast, the parking lot was full we figured it had to be decent. It was beyond decent, we were seated quickly considering the restaurant was full, waitress was prompt getting to our table and friendly, the breakfast was fabulous. Some of the best biscuits and gravy I've had anywhere (sorry grandma).... More

A great alternative to the chain places. I go there whenever I'm in the area. It's run by nice folks too . I'm always treated well by the wait staff. They have great daily specials . Real good meatloaf.
