Just returned from a week in Bradenton Beach. We ate at the Banana Cabana several times and were never disappointed. They served beautifully fresh seafood and fish, prepared with a Caribbean flare. The dishes had many vegetables such as peppers and asparagus which were perfectly prepared. Friendly, engaging service and a decent bottle of South African sauvignon blanc for $22! How... more

We have been to Banana Cabana several times. It's an hour and a half from where we live, but we make the drive when we need a fix of the mango macadamia grouper. We were there again just a few nights ago and also got sides of corn fritters and fried plantains. As always, it was an "mmmmmmm" meal, meaning... more

Headed here in hopes of finding some delicious Caribbean style food and cold Carib beers. We stopped in the night before while we were at Big Olaf's for ice cream and it seemed like a place we would enjoy. I loved the reggae music playing and tropical decor. Our waitress was great a first, but soon fizzled. We were the... more

This is one of our favorite places on the island for good food and a good time, especially on the weekend. Bongo Mike is hilarious! On Friday and Saturday Doug Bidwell is a one man band and a real live juke box. This guy can play anything. Just listen to his music on the sidewalk speaker and you have to... more

This is one of our favorite restaurants on the island. We have never had a bad meal here. The place is quaint and decorated with a ton of island “this and that’s” from bright colors to dollars on the wall with dates of special occasions - you feel like you have walked into some remote gem of a find in... more

One of our first stops when we are in the area. Their big draw is grouper and how it is prepared. We were there with friends last week. I had grouper Cuban style-layers of chesse, grouper, black beans and rice. My wife had pasta and shrimp while our friends has grouper STUFFED with crab and crab cakes which they both... more

My husband and I were really looking forward to having dinner at Banana Cabana as we heard great things about it and we both love Floribbean food. When we arrived there was only one other table of diners in the entire place and the hostess (who did not bother to put the phone down while she was seating us) practically... more

We tried the signature grouper encrusted dish. The service was horrible and the so called chef did more walking around and outside talking to locals than minding the store. Our dinners were served very greasy and all in our party celebrated indigestion shortly after the meal. To state this restaurant on this site as the #3 restaurant on the island... more
