Nice spot for middle eastern fare.

Lovely owner who takes pride in her turkish/middle eastern dishes.Loved her skewered lamb dishes . Great hummus & smokey babaganough. For lunch try a turkish pizza. We haven't been there for awhile...but we have very fond memories.

Only yesterday had a colleague mentioned this place to me. Normally Turkish wouldn't be on my radar...however I said I had to bring home some soup which is why I originally went. So I went bold and got the Spinach Pizza with egg and cheese...it was outstanding and so was the Lentil Soup. I was actually sent back and tonight... More

I love Mediterranean food so I'm always looking for an authentic Mediterranean restaurant. I heard about efes from our local newspaper. so i had to try. The place is tucked away in a little shopping center. It is very clean and quaint. Service was very good. We had the hot appetizer platter; spinach pie, falafel, bureka cigas, zucchini pie, kibbe,... So glad we stopped by. The atmosphere was very pleasant, very clean and inviting. We had the hot appetizer platter which was enough for 4 people. All appetizers were fresh, perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The falafel was to die for. All appetizers are made in house. The owner and chef stopped by and asked how we liked the food.... This is supposed to be a great place to go to for Turkish food...Even the name is taken from a beer that is the Beer of Turkey. We walked in and waited to be seated... and when no one showed up we seated ourselves.... We took our seats. I was with my mom... I looked over the menu and ordered... More

We usually come for dinner and get the whole branzino plus appetizers. But today we came for lunch and mom and I shared the Shepard's salad - a very fresh chopped salad with fresh cilantro - and a sautéed lamb with vegetables, accompanied by a rice pilaf. The bread was crispy and great for wiping up the sauce.

It's too bad that a restaurant with a relatively unique menu (for the environs) and very good food, served in an attractive atmosphere, is marred by indifferent service. When my mother and I arrived on a Sunday afternoon, half an hour after Efes was scheduled to open, the door wouldn't budge. A couple walked up who also wanted to enter,... More

If you grew up in an Armenian home, like I did, you know what Lahmacun is. Lahmacun is like a pizza. Finely ground lamb mixed with spicy pepper, grounded tomatoes, onions, and red bell peppers. At this restaurant it's served as three pieces with onion and parsley salad. We were staying in Fort Lauderdale and we were craving Lahmacun. The... More

The service was delightful--prompt, responsive, friendly and informative. The food was exceptional--perfectly prepared and nicely seasoned--quite authentic (as would be expected since, by all appearances, the staff and chef are either Turkish or of Mediterranean descent. We enjoyed a variety of appetizers and main courses as well as a dessert and were pleased with everything. The environment was also a... More
