Live piano music, wonderful food, elegant surroundings, and very personable wait staff. Felt like coming to an old haunt where we were welcomed as old friends, even though it was our first time.

Old fashioned, beautiful dining room. At one time this must have been quite the place. Now it needs to be brought into the 21st century. Have been here often over the past dozen years, for a variety of business dinners (large groups) and lunches (small groups). The food is fairly good -- but not great. The service is not particularly... More

My wife and I attended the NYE celebration at The Green Room two weeks ago and were quite pleased with the affair. While touted as a 'black tie' event, only a few gentlemen went the entire way - most others wore suits. The main feature was a 7-course dinner paired with wines, and the eclectic menu included seafood, quail, foie... More

My daughter was in Wilmington for an interview and staying at the Hotel Dupont, so we used it as an excuse to go to the iconic Green Room. It had been many years since my husband or I had been there. The room is absolutely beautiful, but the menu is limited. If you are going I would recommend reviewing the... More

I love the holidays so my first impression was that this was the most beautiful dining room that I have been in. The Christmas tree and decorations were absolutely beautiful and the piano player just added to the ambiance. It seemed like they were a little understaffed but assuming it's because the Holly Ball was also going on. The waiter... More

For $55 per person, I'd expect very good if not excellent food and service. Fell short on both. Very pleasant waittress but we shouldn't have to track her down for a coffee refill and plates were not removed in between trips to the buffet. Food was pretty basic; nothing really wowed and not a very large selection of items. I... More

We waited for over half an hour for 2 orders of creamed chipped beef and a cheese omelette. When you are paying $18 to $20 a peice, you're expecting an amazing meal considering I could have gone down the block to the Sterling Grill and gotten breakfast for a quarter of the price. The omelette came out with a half... More

An elegant throwback to service and excellent food. Proper attire and a place steeped in history. The service is excellent and thorough. If in town it is a place to try and dress the part.

We don't go to the Green Room in the Hotel du Pont but maybe once ever 5 years, and always because of some special occasion. The setting/atmosphere is unique and if you've never been there before, breathtaking. The architecture is stunning and obviously unbelievably expensive. If they ever had a fire, trying to replace it would be financially prohibitive. Unfortunately,... More
