Good Food - higher price

I ordered take out, but from what I gathered the atmosphere was very nice and modern. The tortellini crab was very good, but for $18, I expected more than 8 medium-sized tortellinis and three pieces of dry bread. I would visit again, but dine in instead.

Horrible slow service and took 2 hours to get incomplete meals despite the restaurant being almost completely empty. We had to remind the server people were missing food. Came out when we were ready to leave. Some meals had obviously been under heat lamps because plates were super hot and pasta sauces had skin. Initial drinks took 20 minutes, we... More

Stopped in for a drink on a Saturday night. Neon sign in the front window said "Martini Bar". We walked in at about 9:35-9:45. We were greeted at the door, not with a "hello", or a "welcome", but rather with a "Are you here for dinner?" We indicated that we were not, and were only looking for a drink -... More

Came to this restaurant, on Saturday before going to the Grand, with high expectations after reading the reviews. Found the place cold, server was not friendly and food was average. The food was salty and service was very slow for s place 1/4 filled.

There are not many places to have dinner in Wilmington downtown and Cafe Mezzanote was surprisingly good. The decor has nothing special, not particularly welcoming but as room fills up it becomes warmer and enjoyable. Food is good, italian style, well prepared and service is friendly and efficient.

This is a nice restaurant to enjoy a leisurely lunch before a matinee at the DuPont theatre. We had reservations and were seated immediately. The atmosphere is just OK, nothing special. Our wait staff was efficient but not very friendly. The mixed green salad is good but large so we were glad that 2 of us shared an order to... More

The wait staff was extremely attentive. The service was fast. Appetizers, soup, salad, entrée and desert offerings were excellent. Generous portions. Hot food was hot. Deserts made in house were perfect. Atmosphere quiet with "real" music. Outdoor dining available, however chose inside. First time there, will return. Live locally. The prices for lunch are not bad at all. Dinners priced... More

Wow. Hard to believe this place wanted to be on Restauarant Week. To promote what? Saturday night - nearly empty. Two waiters for six tables of patrons and they can't keep up with the service. Be prepared to wait. Food is very 1985. Heavy. Laden with sauce. Overcooked. All above not to be topped by dessert. Marscapone cream (aka cannoli... More

Cafe Mezzanote is a great restaurant. Service, food and decor are excellent! We often stop there when attending a play at the DuPont Theatre. Cafe Mezzanote is about a block from the theatre and parking is available in a parking garage across the street for $3.00! Their food is without a doubt as good as it gets and service is... More

I've eaten here a few times now. The menu is italian, and the quality is good. They have a variety of dishes to choose from, and the portions I've had have been quite large. I've always enjoyed the meal here, but never blown away by it. The place can be VERY quiet on the weeknights, especially in Winter. The service... More
