Great food but slow service

This was my first visit. Arrived around 4:30 for dinner, not crowded but it took a while to have someone acknowledge me and seat me. The draft beer list isn't enormous but is solid and has a good variety. Tried the crab dip and cheesesteak egg rolls. Both were very good. The brisket sandwich and... read more

Went there to watch the Super Bowl with friends - great choice! Easy to see TVs, but also good food and the pub atmosphere. Private places to sit away from the bar, bit plenty of seating at the bar too. I was pleasently surprised by the quality of food and deserts. Prices were on the low end of moderate but... More

This is a local lunch spot for the business crowd that I visit every so often and usually do not have any issues. On this occasion, my party of 3 waited at least 10 minutes for a single table to be cleared and another 10 minutes at the table before asking the hostess whether we had a server or not.... More

My group was pleased to find ourselves seated by the inviting fireplace on a recent visit on a cold evening. The service was friendly and the sandwich selection far surpassed my expectations. Meals ranged from a meatloaf burger to BBQ brisket to chicken salad. Lots of choices for meals and drinks. Easy to hang out with friends or talk business... More

My stepson and I had lunch here as my wife said that it was the former home of one of her favorite bars growing up in the area. The black and blue burger for lunch was very good and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty burger. My step son had the jumbo crab cake sandwich and... More

There are a lot of reasons why the Ale House will never let you down. From the consistent food to the extensive draft beer selection the Washington Street Ale House has a lot to offer! I go here often to watch a game or just to grab a good burger. Always a good crowd and knowledgeable bartenders. Kitchen is open... More

When in the US I am always looking forward to the great ribs that generally are being served. Unfortunately the ribs in this place were bad: way too much fat and the sauce was just sweet without any bbq flavor. The beer selection is ok but there are places in downtown wilmington with a much larger choice, and better food.

Picked up an order to bring back to our hotel room, and the sandwiches were good, but I'm sure the fries would've been better eating them there. Great pulled pork sandwich, and the Cubano I had was great. Ham and pulled pork, nice bun and melted cheese with a spicy mayonaisse. If I get back to Wilmington, I will try... More

Visited this restaurant twice on a business trip. Great selection and mix of brews. The Chorizo Meatloaf and pretzel were delicious choices. Good service too, and close to the Sheraton hotel.

In town for business and the place was recommended. I was able to walk from the hotel. The service was wonderful and the food delicious. I had ribs.. fell off the bone yummy. The asparagus was good as well as the coleslaw. I also started with french onion soup..likely one of the best I have ever had. All round good... More
