I used to spend my summers, as a kid, in a suburb of Detroit. There are a plethora of Hot Dog diners there. But, in Virginia, where I am from -- it's pretty much non-existent. I ventured out w my four littles and had such a fun time at Johnnie's. There's every single hot dog topping -- known to humanity... More

We stopped by for a quick bite and was knocked off our feet. Atmosphere was comfortable; the service was quick and friendly. The food was outstanding, delicious and the combination are a work of art. This was our first visit but it won’t be our last. Just one stop and you will be hooked too.

Live not too far from this place and we pop in every once in awhile. They have a huge sample of named hotdogs with a wide variety of toppings. I mean loads of combinations. regular or sweet potato fries or tot and several other selections. Good shakes as well. From basic to one of the crazy combos with topping in.... More

Nice Fast Food place for every style of Hot Dog that you can name, but the price is a bit high for what you get. I tried the New York Style Hot Dog with the onions in red sauce, and it was good, and it did taste like a Hot Dog off of the wagons in New York City. We... More

This cute little place offers a wide variety of hotdogs (my favorite being the Chicago dog). The decorations are cute, and many of the walls are covered with pictures of visitors eating at Johnnie's. Great food. Great prices. Friendly people.

When someone tells me that they know where I can get a vegan hotdog, I usually roll my eyes and laugh at the thought of being subjected to a rubbery, overcooked mess. I was wrong.... The vegan dogs (and sausages!) at Johnnie's are great-- juicy and flavorful and just plain yum. I ordered mine with potato chips and pineapple on... More

Pretty good all beef dogs, and the toppings were creative. House-made potato chips were first rate. Price was right. Definitely a good alternative to chain fast food places if you're near Concord Pike. Wouldn't want to make a regular habit of it, but it was worth a quick meal.

Johnnie's is the typical small, hole in the wall, but has terrible hot dogs. You can get anything you want on your hot dog and it is all good. I also had onion rings which were excellent. The soft serve ice cream was very creamy and delicious! When in Wilmington, DE, stop by Johnnie's for a terrific hot dog.

Madonna mia....stopped in for a dog---consider myself well versed in the "great dogs"...fact not boast. Never had the time before...so on errands and went in. Small, pleasant place---pictures of patrons all over...kind cool. A few tables, but a straight ahead dog place. They do serve burgers, veggie stuff too (such heresy!) but the dogs the main deal. Soda the bev... More
