We are Chicago hot dog snobs and we APPROVE!

We were driving through on our way to Arlington, VA, very hungry and happened upon Johnnie's ala trip advisor. So glad we stopped! We ordered a wisconsin dog, california dog, chicago dog, junkyard double dog, 2 shakes and fries. Aboslutely loved everything about the experience! You can't over... read more

it was okay. I was glad I tried it but I would not go back as it was nothing special. The hotdogs and food were good.

The hot dogs are pretty good here. I had a chili dog, leaked in the bun but pretty good and a Chicago dog that was really good. A little pricey but overall we liked the hot dogs. They also have other food and the fries are real good also. I would go again.

When they first came about, I thought it was a cool place to eat. It still is if your wallet is prepared. It's pricey food for grocery store hot dogs. Go to costcos to get a 1/4 pound hot dog for $1.50 + a drink.

I grew up in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY and always remember the taste of fresh sauerkraut and beef hot dogs. Eating them captured my mind and senses into adulthood and i've searched for the "perfect Coney Island dog" and Johnnie's Dog House gets the gold ring for excellence in cooking and preparing various types of hot dogs on a bun... Surprising number of choices - in addition to plain, chili, sauerkraut ... you can get a kobe beef Frank, Hawaiian (pineapple and chips) or a bunch of others. I had the sausage & peppers, which was very good. My wife had the Texas (fried with cheese) - but you'd need to like American 'cheese' to really enjoy it. Has burgers,... More

I grew up in Newark, NJ and was a big fan of Jimmy Buff's hot dog joint. The Jersey dog served at this Johnny's are as close as I've seen except for the bun. Ditto for the Chicago dog which only lacks a proper poppy seed role for authenticity. Fries are very good. Friendly service - only reason I downgrade... More

Johnnie's Doghouse offers a huge variety of hot dogs that you'd normally have to travel around the country to find. Hot dogs are specific to regions of the country: Chicago has its dog, Arizona has its dog, etc. You can find them all at Johnnie's. I love this place, but my wife resists going here like the plague, since she's... More

It seems like every time I go there are more menu items! Everything we've had has been good but my favorite is the sweet potato tots. The kids love this place. The 5 year old ask "can we eat at the orange place?" Very friendly staff.

Great service. A clean and friendly place. I tried the Wisconsin dog and loved it. Goes well with a shake.
