Description: 133 steps to the Atlantic...Blurring the boundary between a night in with friends, and an evening on the town, coastal gastropub cuisine, eclectic wine, handcrafted cocktails, cool beers, laid back livin'. We are locally owned and operated establishment. We start with what we call our kitchens mantra from Julia Child; "You don't have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients." Our interpretation is too not get in the way of the food, let the ingredients speak for themselves. We mix this altogether with a nice selection of handcrafted cocktails (a must these days), craft brews, and wines, throw it all together in a relaxed beach cottage atmosphere, and try our best to provide you with the friendliest service we know how. There you have it: Shorebreak Lodge.

Shorebreak Lodge was a welcome respite from the boardwalk chains and the insane no-reservations policies at other restaurants. After waiting for over an hour at a packed seafood restaurant, we hit Trip Advisor, made reservations quickly, walked down the street, and found this great place. Fresh, flavorful fare, well cooked, a top-flight atmosphere both indoors and on the patio, and... More

We liked that you can order half portions to share and try many dishes. The Thai Wings were great as were the mussels in marinara sauce. Service was superb. It was crowded for a cold January night.

We had one of the best dining experiences in a long time here -- everything put in front of us was beautiful, delicious, fresh, and a little bit surprising. Service was excellent: friendly and very attentive; Atmosphere is modern and comfortable. The prices were absolutely reasonable for the fare- and I liked that we could order smaller (app) plates for... More

We went on a very busy Friday night right after Christmas. We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and helpful. He warned us that two large parties had just arrived and we should get our orders in before theirs so we wouldn't have to wait, which we did. The food came out promptly and was delicious.... More

My friend and I both ordered the burrata We should have only ordered one but not knowing the portions here are huge, we went ahead. This grilled bread was spread with a fruity olive oil and a perfect portion of creamy burrata cheese, then topped with slivers of roasted red pepper and a small drizzle of balsamic glaze. Too good!... More

Came in for happy hour (off season) and had a delightful time. A nice selection of $5 food items and a decent glass of wine for $4--how can you go wrong? We shared mussels with chorizo, brie on naan, "fancy" fries, and an app off the main menu ($8), butternut squash with bacon. More than enough for two hearty eaters.... More

Somehow I had never managed to get to the Shorebreak Lodge in my previous visits to Rehoboth, so I wandered in on a weekday evening in the off-season, and was seated immediately. There was a noisy crowd at the bar, but it turned out they were having some sort of special event in the back room, and once they headed... More

Someone in our party had read that the Shorebreak got outstanding reviews. They must have been written by the owner. Imagative, eclectic menu. The prices are reasonable for a tourist area, but the food lacked distictive, "Wow, that's good" flavor that one would expect from a top notch restaurant. The wait staff was pleasant, patient, and answered many questions about... More

Have been to the Shorebreak Lodge three times this summer and each time I enjoy it more. The atmosphere and location are great, the service is excellent, and the cuisine is superlative. I am particularly fond of their surf n turf entree which is scallops and short ribs around some stellar risotto. The only issue with the location is, during... More

We were in town and a friend made the reservations for us four--insisting we go to this place. We brought the menu up online and I wasn't sold. Trusting our host, our party went and I'm so glad we did. Our server was charming and adorable. ( He just found out he got into dental school) Being a vegetarian I... More
