For each of the past several years, we have made a point to have dinner at the Back Porch Cafe and have enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. This year, a spate of bad reviews, an odd night (a stormy Tuesday) and a party of seven that included two small children, led me to approach our meal with a bit of trepidation. My... More

This place offers pheonomenal slow-cooked food in a completely charming environment. While we ordered a la carte--there is an affordable three course pre-fixe that we will try next time we are in town just to sample more of their cuisine. There is an array of dining spaces including balconies and romantic courtyards--just steps off of Rehoboth Ave. The service was... More

One of our favorite go-to spots in Rehoboth for either lunch or dinner - this time it was dinner for a foursome at 8pm. We first had cocktails at the bar, then were seated and served. My wife opted for two apps - diver scallops with an arugula-based caesar salad, and softshell crab with a blueberry/lemon sauce. I sampled both... More

This was a great place for sunday brunch. The food was wonderfully prepared and the serve was very friendly. Most things are overpriced, but that is the beach for you. I would go again and try some of their other meal times. Be careful, you might walk right by it and not know it's there, but it is worth checking... More

I've been goint here for years (about 15) and is was a visual and gustatory delight. It was quaint in a location that ain't. With thousands of taffy-chewing adults dragging complaining kids away from the beach, this place was a quiet, serene respite in the sea of cacophony. Servers knew this and helped you escape the madding crowd. Your were... More

wanting to like it more then our last visit we had a very bad experience. The food... disappointing, nothing special, no imagination and bland.. The service... Non-existant- we travel around the world and have seen it all, but the service here was as if they not only cared but didn't want to be there- atmosphere... used to be fun and... More

Twenty some years ago The Back Porch was my favorite restaurant in Rehoboth Beach when we had a condo there. I could hardly wait to go to it in my return after so many years. What a disappointment! The spring role was mediocre, the duck breast was surprisingly tough. My wife was not pleased with her meal and could not... More

Love this place.. Stopped in for a late app and drinks! Creative food, a little pricey, friendly bartender. A cozy place to have an after dinner drink as well. Bar and "back porch" are great..not " your beach place" but a fantastic alternative.

You have to stop in and give it a try. The Chef is "All IN" about what he cooks!!! If you stay long enough and with the help of the awesome drinks the bartender can mix...you can imagine you are in a little beach house bar in tropical anywhere .
