Overall a good experience on my first visit to the Back Porch Cafe. There were a couple minor hiccups, well worth mentioning, if nothing else but to make management aware; such as the wobbly table, which would make you fear putting your drink in your lap when cutting your tenderloin with the dull knife provided. Our drinking glasses had some... More

Delicious! From the blueberry scones to the blueberry bread pudding and everything else in between. Enjoying excellent, farm-fresh food in such a casual setting was a true at-the-beach pleasure. Tried the recommended white wine that went perfectly with the tomato and goat cheese tart that was melt-in-your-mouth delicious.

Popular place for Sunday brunch. Our party of four squeezed into a very small table in the dining room. The menu is limited but covers the bases. Cucumber and dill soup was delicious. Eggs Benedict, scrambled eggs with Artisanal cheese and Gruyere omelette were very much enjoyed by our party. Our server was pleasant and efficient. Superb wine list. It... More

We dine at The Back Porch every summer on several occasions while vacationing in Rehoboth Beach, and this place just always thrills us with the cuisine. The service is top rate, and the atmosphere is very charming and social. The wonderful water-color art work on the walls each year is a treat to see whats new from a local artist.... More

We stumbled onto this place last time was were in Rehoboth and desperate to get out of the sun. Down an alley that's easy to miss we were delighted to have an incredible experience sharing small plates around our large group in a cool, green space with excellent staff and cocktails. This trip we were hesitant to tempt fate by... More

After reading many enthusiastic reviews, I have to wonder, "To which Back Porch Cafe did they go?" I've heard about this place for years and finally had an opportunity to go for a late lunch on a very gorgeous, sunny day. However, we were led into a long, narrow enclosed but 'open' porch to a small table crowded among many.... More

We've been coming to this restaurant since it opened in the mid-1970s and it's always a highlight of our summer. The ambiance is terrific whether you sit inside or on the deck, and it has a lovely, though very small, bar area. The service is consistently superior and friendly, though not intrusive. The food can be summed up in one... More

Went to the Back Porch Cafe for dinner and the food was awesome! We had seafood, which is something we don't normally eat at restaurants. The fish was cooked and seasoned to perfection. The crabcake and chowder was a wonderful combination. The atmosphere was busy but friendly. Was nice to be someplace that was relaxing. Server had excellent knowledge of... More

For each of the past several years, we have made a point to have dinner at the Back Porch Cafe and have enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. This year, a spate of bad reviews, an odd night (a stormy Tuesday) and a party of seven that included two small children, led me to approach our meal with a bit of trepidation. My... More

This place offers pheonomenal slow-cooked food in a completely charming environment. While we ordered a la carte--there is an affordable three course pre-fixe that we will try next time we are in town just to sample more of their cuisine. There is an array of dining spaces including balconies and romantic courtyards--just steps off of Rehoboth Ave. The service was... More
