We have a large group that goes to dinner one night a month - about 15 - 20 people. we were there on Tuesday, Dec 9. The waitress was very nice and attentive. However, it took over an hour for the food to finally be brought out. Not only that but everyone complained that the food was ice cold .... More

We just had the flatbreads, because they sounded fantastic. They look great, and tasted even better! I want to rush back to try their other dishes. The Tavern was quiet, but this was a week night visit. I can imagine that their weekends are packed with such great food. They have an extensive menu for drinks. I can see this... More

What a beautiful renovated building. This place is huge! The food was soooo good we considered eating there two nights in a row...but with soooo many local restaurant choices we ate else where. But we will be back! They serve "local" craft beer too. Reservations are not required but recommended as the town is small and with this hidden gem... More

Business associate suggested this establishment for dinner. So glad we made the drive from NewCastle. Creative menu with fresh ingredients and great autumn flavors. Loved the squash soup and had short ribs with pasta. Nice wine selection as well as appetizers and desserts. Will visit the next time I am in town. Service efficient.

We have enjoyed dinner here twice now and although the service was better the first time, we were still not disappointed with our food choices. It is a somewhat noisy atmosphere on a Saturday night, but we think that adds to the ambience of being in an historical tavern (which was probably the same level if not more back when... More

Took another couple here with a 6:00 PM reservation on a Saturday night. While we were promptly seated, the table and bar service were extremely slow. The apologies for slow service by our server continued throughout our meal. Being offered a glass to accompany a bottle of beer would have been nice. Instead I served myself by walking down to... What a lovely venue! I can't really comment on the menu as I was there for a work function - cheese and vegi platter, meatballs and mini crab cakes. Very nice ambiance but be prepared to navigate some small narrow stairs. We were in a private room upstairs but would like to hang in the outdoors patio - looked nice.... More

Me and my wife enjoyed a wonderful dinner. Our waiter Jacob was awesome, as was the food. We are new to the area but will definitely be a repeat customer. Very nice wine selection to go along with the menu. Enjoy

After a disappointing lunch at Cantwell's when it first opened, I recently ventured back for dinner hoping that the service had improved (it had) but found the food had not. One of our group requested that her steak be cooked medium. When it arrived rare she requested that it be grilled again. By the time her correctly cooked order arrived... More

Cantwells tavern is located the historic district of Odessa near Middletown. They have done an excellent job of keeping the feel of the original house and creating a true pub experience. Pubs get their name from public house... Which is what they used to be in Britain a house that had a license to sell beer. The rooms were all... More
