Some of the Best

I love this restaurant! It has a really cool atmosphere and the food is always fantastic. It is pretty pricey though so that nocks it down a few notches in my opinion.

Early dinner in this Colonial Tavern was generally wonderful, but there were a few little problems. The flat bread pizza was a delicious work of art. The crabcake sandwich was perfectly cooked, especially when paired with the house salad of baby greens with blue cheese dressing. Fries order to accompany the pizza, were a huge disappointment - while cut from... More

Located in an Old Historic Brick Hotel which has been upgraded and modern Kitchen and Bathroom added along with a elevator. They also feature an outdoor dining area. Good selection of soups and salads. For Lunch I had the Chesapeake Crab Cake Sandwich with Remoulade & Cole Slaw and my friends shared a Bacon Avocado Pizza from the Brick Fired... More

On Wednesdays they have Tapas. These are smaller portions for $5. If you have a smaller appetite these are perfect. If you have a bigger appetite, you can try several dishes. They are always different each week, so lots of variety. Tonight I wanted to try all 4, but there was no way. So I got the 4 cheese tortellini... More

A nice pleasant surprise for the rather lacking dining scene that is lower Delaware. Set in a very picturesque small town street, we were pleased with the food we all ordered. The drinks at the bar could use a finer touch (not the recipes but the hands making them) but honestly that's just being forcibly nitpicky because everything else was... More

My wife and I had dinner at Cantwell’s recently. We just love the Colonial theme and Cantwell’s has plenty of it! Many times historic places are on the small side, but not here. The rooms are nice and big and there is plenty of elbow room. We had a nice quite corner table. The food was magnificent. My wife had... More

We went to Cantwell's Tavern for another visit Saturday night, 6-6-15. Never ceases to amaze us. We had a wonderful Smoked Virginia Oyster Soup for an Appetizer. Wonderful flavored broth of a semi thick consistency, 3 huge smoked fresh oysters. Seasoning was delicious. I had seared tuna on the apple, blueberry, candied walnut green salad, with blue cheese dressing. Wonderful.... More

My Wife and I recently met a friend at Cantwell's Tavern in the historic little town of Odessa. The Tavern was established in 1822. It has an interestingly menu with a great Crab Chowder in a red stock. I had a great Pit Beef Sandwich and my Wife had a huge Caesar Salad with grilled salmon. They had a reasonably... More

My wife and I always seem to stop at Cantwell's Tavern for lunch on a Thursday. That's OK, though, since they always have their Flatbread Special Day: $5 for their flatbreads. Their flatbreads always taste great with pleasing combinations of toppings. On our recent visit we sat outside since it was such a nice day. Unfortunately, we were attacked by... More
