tasty food, good atmosphere. Loved the crab spread on the flatbread, the fish, and the desserts. I wasn't sure what to expect because the town is small, but there was a good breadth in the menu and some very good dishes. Everyone at my table was satisfied. I would just comment that the service was rather slow when we were... More

My son and his wife got married in historic Odessa yesterday. Since Cantwell's was right across from the wedding site (garden behind historic home) we arranged for them to provide the "rehearsal dinner". Cantwell's has access to the "historic bank building" next door to the tavern so that's where we had the private dinner. It was AWESOME! Best banquet food... More

I've never been disappointed in Cantwell's. Food is always good, bar is lively. We recently had an issue with an overcooked steak, and it was taken care of quickly, and the manager exceeded our expectations. I think the young waitress was a little freaked out and found it odd we wanted our meals at the same time so we could... More

We were quite excited about visiting for the first time. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a BIG bust! The service was very spotty; the noise level made conversation difficult. There were three diners: one enjoyed her food, one thought her dinner was just okay, and the third diner was extremely (and I mean extremely) disappointed with his selections. The... More

Mother's Day dinner at Cantwell's was a complete delight. The atmosphere starts out with a beautiful Colonial home, complete with architecture, artwork and ambiance. The special of the day was a delicious scallop dish with THE BEST RISOTTO I've ever eaten. The server, Jessie, was delightful as well. Such a nice place with nice people and a quaint setting. Will... We read that tiny Odessa has a treasure trove of well-preserved Federal style homes so took a detour and stayed for lunch at Cantwell's Tavern. It was a quiet Friday, very few diners, but the young hostess for some reason seated us upstairs in a big room by ourselves. We moved ourselves downstairs to the bar, took over a high... More

My wife and I tried Cantwell's Tavern and were very satisfied. It lived up to all of the positive reviews we read. We had the cheese/meat platter appetizer, veal and swordfish dishes. All were excellent as was the Colonial charm. The only disappointment was the pickle appetizer and the meatloaf were no longer choices on the menu. Having read so... More

Cantwells Tavern was a great spot. Had a drink at the bar before dinner. Dark and Stormy which I have never had before however really nice drink. The bartender Zackary was great and he answered some of our drink questions and had a great knowledge. We moved into the dinning room and the service was excellent, the table was quiet... More
