Been going to Deer Park for over 40 years. Great place to just hang out and talk. Food is ok, pretty standard. But go for the atmosphere, free popcorn, and happy hour specials. The place is divided into a restaurant side and a "towny" bar. If you sit at the town bar remember that it has a lot of locals,... More

Great drink specials and a large selection of craft brews. Food is good too. Sunday morning brunch is a regularly scheduled event for us and normally on the motorcycle.

Well, we heard it had great burgers and an amazing Bloody Mary bar so we decided to give it a try. I made reservations for a Sunday brunch and arrived a few minutes early. It was chaotic, young staff chatting away with and not really caring about the people walking in, and it wasn't even that busy. We were seated... More

Came here for a weekend lunch while visiting friends in the area and found a very broad menu that offered something for everyone. The food was good, the atmosphere comfortable and fun, and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. Recommend for family or friends.

Stopped in for a drink while visiting University of Delaware. Deer Park Tavern is on Main street just out of the thick of things for the University. Its a short walk to most parts of the school and the other shopping on Main Street. I didn't try the food, but the wait staff was very friendly, the place had character,... More

I guess this is a staple in Newark, Delaware. Located in an older building by the train tracks. Staff couldn't have been nicer - super accommodating and friendly. Food was fresh and tasty. Would definitely go back next time we are in town.

I am a graduate of the University of Delaware--which might be a very interesting thing to be if the 2016 election is Chris Christie vs Joe Biden--both University of Delaware graduates. It is not your usual boring Harvard vs Yale. When I went to Delaware, the pickup bar was The Stone Balloon, but the serious bar was the Deer Park.... More

Rang in the New Year with an early dinner with friends... the atmosphere was festive (not wild) and the service was excellent. The food was great, as usual and a good time was had by all. We are locals, but the DP is home to anyone who crosses its threshold.

We were out with a friend looking for the Mason/Dixon line starting point in White Clay Creek state park and we got hungry. After getting slightly lost we re-found the tavern. Great place. Older bar and comfortable seating for a late lunch. Service was great and friendly. Specials were good and reasonably priced. Very good draft beer selection.
