I have been to a few tea rooms before but this one was the most enjoyable with the best food. The soup was delicious and I enjoyed everything on the menu. The setting was elegant and everyone there seemed to be having a good time. I liked the selections of teas. The staff was courteous and pleasant. I haven't been... More

The Tea Room is a complete delight! The ambiance, food and service is excellent. We brought a friend for her birthday from Lewes and would certainly drive to the Tea Room again. A wonderful Tea Room experience. We even enjoyed seeing the ladies at the next table dressed in period clothing.

I recently took a good friend to afternoon tea at British Bell Tea Room. It was our first visit and we loved it. It was so special and relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful tea sandwiches, scones, desserts, and of course, the tea! What a great place to come with a special friend. Can't wait to come back!

It's an amazing little place tucked away in People's Plaza. The atmosphere is very charming and successfully decorated like a victorian dining room. The tea is out of this world delicious~the best I've had anywhere! Fantastic tea sandwiches and the bonus is that you get to choose which ones you'd like. The scones were excellent served with lemon curd, clotted... More

This restaurant is in a hidden nook of Peoples Plaza - easy to overlook. I had passed by many times but didn't try it until it was chosen by a group of my female friends who meet once a month for lunch. The entire experience was very restful and pleasant. The menu (and restaurant) models itself after a British HIgh... More

My girl friend & I enjoyed a wonderful late afternoon "high tea" at the British Bell Tea Room in Newark, DE. The soups, sandwiches, scones and pasteries were all delicious and the choice of teas were exceptional. I had the Ceylon Kenilworth and she enjoyed the Oolong, both were wonderful. All in all we highly recommend British Bell for a... More

Wonderful, delicious, and relaxing afternoon. Excellent value and not pretentious at all. The turkey pastry is worth the trip alone. Many teas to choose from. Service was top notch.
