It's an amazing little place tucked away in People's Plaza. The atmosphere is very charming and successfully decorated like a victorian dining room. The tea is out of this world delicious~the best I've had anywhere! Fantastic tea sandwiches and the bonus is that you get to choose which ones you'd like. The scones were excellent served with lemon curd, clotted... More

This restaurant is in a hidden nook of Peoples Plaza - easy to overlook. I had passed by many times but didn't try it until it was chosen by a group of my female friends who meet once a month for lunch. The entire experience was very restful and pleasant. The menu (and restaurant) models itself after a British HIgh... More

My girl friend & I enjoyed a wonderful late afternoon "high tea" at the British Bell Tea Room in Newark, DE. The soups, sandwiches, scones and pasteries were all delicious and the choice of teas were exceptional. I had the Ceylon Kenilworth and she enjoyed the Oolong, both were wonderful. All in all we highly recommend British Bell for a... More

Wonderful, delicious, and relaxing afternoon. Excellent value and not pretentious at all. The turkey pastry is worth the trip alone. Many teas to choose from. Service was top notch.

I have been to Many different tea rooms, special tea events, charities, etc. and I can Honestly say The British Bell Tearoom is my Favorite compared to all others. I truly loved the extra special touches such as the individual teapot warmer which kept the tea nice & hot! I was also impressed with having so many choices on food... More

I love British Bell. I have been there many times with friends but my favorite experience was bringing my 6 year old goddaughter. She was enchanted with the Tinkerbell Tea and she was given a tiara and a small bag of gifts which I hadn't expected. It was so much fun for both of us. The food is always excellent.... More

My mom and I went here for afternoon tea and what an incredible experience we had. Making the reservation was a snap. We of course were blessed to be there on the first day of their new winter feature teas and my smores was so good that I ended up going to the gift shop and buying it. The gift... More

A friend of mine recommended that we go to the British Bell Tea Room for lunch, instead of another restaurant. I had never been and had always wanted to try it. What a great idea! It was absolutely wonderful (e.g. great service, tea, sandwiches, scones, desserts, and ambiance). I cannot wait to go back and plan on going with my... More

What an incredible experience, from making the reservation, the wait staff, the cozy dining room, to the wonderful food. I took my mother and we enjoyed it immensely. The table settings and room decor were just lovely. My mother, who does not usually choose soup over salad, ordered the mushroom brie soup and it was excellent! I am a big... More
