I've been to Vita Nova several times for lunch. It's unique in that the food is prepared and served by university students as part of their course work. I've never been disappointed with the food and the service is outstanding. I would give the students a grade of A+!

Our table of four had a great night at Vita Nova. Though in the U. Del. student center, once you are inside, you feel like you are in a fine dining establishment (save for the walk down the classroom hallway to the restrooms). Allow plenty of time for the different courses and the attentive, to say the least, service. The... More

Compared with many restaurants I've been in Newark DE, this restaurant impressed me a lot, excellent service provided by UD HRIM student, as they are in learning process, every detailed service has been considered. Of course, the food there was great as well, very nice presentation, very tasty! everything was wonderful, if you have time, just go there, and try... More

Went to lunch with friends for the first time at Vita Nova. Lunch is a buffet. The food was very good and a wonderful variety. Started with soup to dessert. Many different types of salads were available. The grilled vegetables were fantastic, very tasty. Main courses consisted of a pasta, chicken, and freshly carved apple roasted turkey. Disappointed that there... More

We have been here for both lunch and dinner. Dinner takes awhile because they don't rush you and they are students learning the art of fine dining. The presentation (depending on your meal) is served 3 different way; American, french and russian. you will be impressed. Very nice atmosphere, attentive and the food is outstanding. the students are very knowledgable... More

Before you think about going- you have to make a reservation...they are always booked. The atmosphere is quiet and the service is always at it's best...like being on a cruise ship (waiters are always at your service). Of course the food is wonderfully done to perfection. Don't forget that the waiters/staff are University students- and doing a great job too.

It is a nice looking dining room, and the staff are weirdly attentive (being students who are presumably being graded on their performance). I've been there several times for lunch, which is a buffet, and there is very little for vegetarians. Last time they even managed to put meat in all of the side dishes. When I asked the manager... I have been here several times; twice for lunch, once for dinner. If you are on a time constraint, then lunch if for you. Buffet style. Dinner is served, very classy. Takes a long time though since the staff are 'student's' in the culinary art's at U of D.

This restaurant is on the second floor of Trabant University Center (that's the big student center with all the neon lights) and it is run by UD's Hotel Restaurant & Institutional Management school. The servers are all students who are learning, one course per semester (and by course I mean appetizers, entrees....) how to consistently provide incredible food and customer... More

Always a hit. Always a nice variety of food, great quality, all you can eat at lunch, fabulous service (students who are really making an effort and not just there for a tip), and overall a great experience while supporting the University.
