Was looking forward to earing there because the menu looked good, but told by receptionist I could not have a table in the restaurant because I was alone. Restaurant was almost empty before noon. Offered a seat in the bar instead. Went elsewhere where I could get a table. I've been to hundreds of fine restaurants across the country and... More

This was my first visit to Jessop's. We made it a family outing on a Sunday for lunch the day after my son's wedding. The Pub is located in Old New Castle, which is a very nice, quaint, little part of town. There is ample street parking and some nice little shops as well as few other small eateries. My... More

We have eaten here for many years. We always choose Jessops for special occasions and when looking for something special for out of town guests. The food is excellent. The drinks are always unique and creative. I don't usually order anything except chardonnay in restaurants but at Jessops, there is always a seasonal cocktail that is well worth trying. The... More

This lovely little pub is located at the heart of historic colonial New Castle, DE. The décor and theme are well done with waitresses in costume, tables with candles, and period music played on the sound system. The beer selection is quite good, with a very extensive collection of Belgian options. The food is again colonial themed, but they managed... More

We ate here Sept 2014 and everyone loved their entre. The meatloaf was especially good. The bread pudding was a bit heavy for our taste. The prices were reasonable. I would return if I'm ever in New Castle again.

My wife stopped here on a weekend evening without reservations. The hostess told us all the tables were full and reserved but when my wife explained we were from NC and only visiting for the day he asked we gice her 10-15 minutes to see what she could do. After 10 minutes we were advised that a table was set... More

We stopped here on a whim after seeing positive reviews on Tripadvisor, and because we wanted something a little different than typical roadside fare during our long car trip. It was awesome, and the whole family enjoyed it! Excellent food - I can particularly recommend the Shepherd's Pie for an entre and the Bread Pudding for dessert. The atmosphere was... More

The food is really good and the colonial atmospehere is like being in Williamsburg Virginia. I especially like the great selection of Belgium Beers. Best in the state.

My wife and I left NYC on a two week road trip to DC, NC, Va., & Lancaster, Pa. As we were considering where to stop for lunch, I remembered visiting a very quaint, old fashioned town New Castle, De. We had stopped there once prior maybe 6 years ago, when we were taking a cruise out of Baltimore. The... More

I can't believe that I have lived in Delaware for over 10 years and I just discovered this fantastic restaurant. The friendly staff dress in period costumes and the food is colonial also. I had the roast beef, my daughter had the steak, my sister the fish and chips and my nephew the burger. The food is excellent... the portions... More
