Their daily bread bowl creations are 5 star!

This old colonial tavern is so warm and inviting. It feels like a little piece of Colonial Williamsburg right here in the tri-state area. While my husband and I don't drink, we adore old taverns for their decor and laid back atmosphere. Jessop's menu has a little something for just about every... read more

We have been here frequently and for the most part found it very good. Tonight we ordered the prime rib special. The meat was so tough and full of fat that I sent mine back. My husband ate his but said it was terrible (tough and full of fat). Our server brought me another serving and it was just awful.... More

You can always depend on solid execution of Jessup's colonial menu, and their friendly bar and wait staff, but if you are a fan of Belgian beer (or just great beer in general), then you need to get to Jessup's. Their beer list blows away Eulogy and Monk's in Philly, and they actually have the beer they list in stock... More

Jessop's has been my family's go-to restaurant in New Castle for a few years. The food has always been excellent and the draft selections are some of the best in New Castle County. Aside from Eulogy in Philly I don't know of any other nearby bar with such a good selection of Belgian drafts. Beer prices seem higher on average... More

The food was mediocre but the service and atmosphere was great. The location in historic Old New Castle is a fun place to visit.

The old tavern atmosphere is great. There is a wide variety of beers to select from. We had lunch there and the food was very good. Good variety on the menu to chose from. Definitely a place to visit if you are in the neighborhood.

Hidden away in historic New Castle, this small tavern offers an incredible menu, yummy drinks and great service. On a recent visit, we opted to eat at the bar and were greeted by other patrons at the bar and actually had a great social hour along with a delicious lunch. The menu is varied and is reasonably priced. A great... More

I generally don't go for comfort food when I go out, however, I have to say Jessops really delivered a cozy atmoshere and a meal I really enjoyed.I went way off my norm and orderded Shepaerds Pie. It was fantastic. I never order anything like that and usually avoid eateries that have meatloaf and that kind of thing on their... More

Atmosphere and the wide selection of Craft Beers on tap brought us to this nice Tavern. Lately though the food and service are not what it once was. Maybe a new Chef or an old one that has lost interest is the answer. We will still go but not for the food. What a shame!

Driving down to Christiana Mall we decided to take a look at colonial New Castle and stopped for lunch. Despite it being a cold Friday afternoon the Tavern was quite busy at 1 PM and we were seated in the next door dining area which had lots of character. Service was very prompt and welcoming. Food was perfect for a... More
