A little more formal eating establishment on the Main Street of Lewes, but you don't have to be dressed up. You can sit inside or out in this old building. The food was very good.

We were a party of 7 celebrating a good friend's birthday. The food was excellent and the service was terrific too. We had a really good time and hopefully didn't disrupt our fellow diners too much.

My girlfriend had been to The Buttery before, and raved about it - so on our beach weekend getaway, I made sure to make reservations for our first night at the beach. I was shocked when then were able to reserve us a table on a very busy Friday night, and even more shocked when, running late, I called and... More

Enjoyed with college friends an wonderful dining experience at our favorite Lewes, Delaware restaurant- The Buttery. Superior service combined with superb entrees presented a night to remember with ole college classmates. Ambience of the old Lewes residence turned restaurant adds the extra touch to a dining evening of true rewarding experience! Ted & Patti Haas

A few years back I despised when my family wanted to go here. Now I love it. The bar is full of older (45+) during happy hour. They have some great bartenders though. Happy hour specials are good and the bar/bistro has an extra menu with a GREAT portabella mushroom burger. It is by far the best vegetarian burger I... More

We enjoyed a fine meal at the buttery, that included excellent seafood soup and fine melon salad with black forest ham as apps! The entrees of halibut and chicken were very good, but just slightly overcooked! The apple pie was one of the best we've ever had!Wines by the glass were wonderful, the atmosphere and service very enjoyable!

We had planned on eating at the Italian restaurant across the street, lucky for us there was a 40 minute wait so we walked across to The Buttery. We hit the Mother Lode! We had a fabulous gourmet dinner, excellent service and a private tour of the 1800's Victorian Mansion! We enjoyed it so much that we returned for Sunday... More

This was our second visit to the Buttery. We ordered the seafood bisque (their specialty) and it was very bland. Entrees: The chicken was overcooked and tough. My filet mignon was good, but the peppercorn sauce was a bit too overpowering. The service was good.

We have eaten at The Buttery on many occasions - both for lunch and dinner - and every time we've had great service and excellent fare. Returning on the ferry from Cape May, we had reservations at 8pm for dinner. We were seated promptly and had an excellent server. My wife decided on two apps: a pate plate and their... More

For about twenty three dollars per person, the two of us rec'd the following: - a plate of fresh fruit to share (pineapple, cantaloupe, and more), which was of reasonable taste and size. - a plate of pastries to share, which were pretty good - one limited-choice drink each. I had a Bloody Mary, which was pretty good, and the... More
