After reading reviews I had high hopes for this place. I could get over the seating, except being short and pregnant the bench seats were uncomfortable, and I had to keep moving to let people in and out around me. The food was ok, but the portion sizes were poor for the price. The service was slow and our server... More

I know this place is famous for crabs but when I heard their fish of the day was mahi mahi I got the mahi mahi fish and chips. It was delicious !!! Got the fries and potato salad, both were excellent. Yummy !

This was a laid back fun experience with a hefty pricetag. The restaurant atmosphere is "crab shack" with shared wooden tables and bright lights. As long as you like your tablemates, that's fine. The food is good, we enjoyed great salads, shrimp, and crabcakes. However, this doesn't come cheap. For the atmosphere, the price is high. $29 for the crabcake... More

Stopped in the Surfing Crab on our way home from the beach - the thought was it is out of town and on the northbound side of the road - easy stop on the way home. What a mistake. Got seated quickly, but that was the last quick thing to happen! Once we got over the sticker shock of the... More

We had group of 7 and headed to the Surfing Crab on recommendation on some friends and were not disappointed. We didn't have reservations and walked in around 8pm and wanted all you can eat. The place was packed and they checked their stock and said they could accommodate us for AUCE but were low on larger crabs by the... More

Place was very crowded, so we placed a take out order. Great service and crab cakes. Go early to avoid crowds

We went here based on a friends recommendation. It was a Friday night around 6p table of 4. We were seated right away. The first thing our waiter asked us was "were you thinking of crabs"? My husband replied yes and then the waiter said "if you didn't call ahead to reserve them, then we only have all you can... More

Stopped for crabs but decided on crab cakes and shrimp. Crab cakes were solid crab that tasted wonderful. Fried shrimp was very good. Service was friendly and offers advise. If you like crabs it is the place to go. People were from different states and stopped there because someone told them about the place. You will like trust me. Atmosphere... More

I wanted to love this little crab shack but alas---will never return. I expected menu options to be limited but not as limited as they were. This was a dilemma!! Whereas my husband picks crabs, I generally only eat the claws and get a different entree. This place is adamant about a two hour time limit and no sharing. Okay--we... More

We have visited many, many Crab Houses in the Delaware, Maryland & DC areas and we must say, this is the very best of them all. We called earlier in the day and reserved a dozen of the largest crabs they had available for 6PM that evening. If you want the best crabs, this is the procedure you must follow.... More
