Doesn't look like much from the outside, and the decorations are sort of tacky on the inside. BUT... the service is absolutely excellent. Started with a small sample of their fish of the day as she explained the specials. Continued with a small taste of all 4 soups when we couldn't decide what to get, and finished with friendly personalized... More

Have eaten here on two occasions while traveling south, and both experiences were quite similar. The food is not inspired, but is generally tasty; service is quite leisurely but friendly. The atmosphere is not lively but not gloomy. Seafood selections and chowders are generally the better choices, but based on our experience do not order the stuffed lobster. We are... More

I have eaten at Shuckers twice for lunch with a good meal. Ordered a fish sandwich and it was a good meal. Service was good both times. I can't speak to dinner or larger meals but hope to come back to find out.

This restaurant was recommended to us by the desk clerk at the Comfort Inn & Suites in Dover, Delaware. We enjoyed good seafood which was further enhanced by our server Sonita, who was friendly, smiling, and very efficient. Very conveniently located near the hotel. Would eat there again when in the Dover area.

We overnighted at a local motel and asked for their recommended restaurants. They named several places we didn't want to frequent but when we asked about a seafood establishment, they recommended Shucker's Pier 13. We found Shucker's to be ordinary but the food to be very special. We had the crab imperial selection which we compared to one that a... More

Ordered fried Calamari take out on a Friday night. The Calamari was over battered and simply not good. Tasted like cheap product from a supermarket frozen section. They simply need to do better. The young man who took my order was very polite, friendly, and professional, so I tipped him well as he is not the person cooking, buying ingredients,... More

We have been here several times and the decor needs updating, but we have always had attentive wait staff. The tuna steaks are delicious and served with two sides. The soups are good and the salads are large. The cod is usually fresh and moist. Desserts are expensive but huge especially the chocolate cake which is very rich and delicious.

I tried twice. Crab cakes, soft shell crabs and the sample of fried cod all tasted just a bit off. One crab was a paper shell, so parts were inedible. Huge portions. I swear they served me an entire head of steamed broccoli. (Not necessarily a bad thing; it was almost perfectly prepared.) Slow service, although the servers were very... More

We go to Shucker's every now and then when we get hungry for seafood. Shucker's has changed for the good in the fourteen years we have been visiting, from the decor to the waitstaff, to the prices. The portions are generous (my husband had a LARGE piece of fish, even on a combo platter) and presentation is very nice. You... More

From the street this place did not seem like much. But our friends have been there many times and wanted us to try it. We were told it was a seafood restaurant. It was a nice surprise to find almost half the menu was food other then seafood, including Italian and steaks and chicken. We all had something different and... More
