My husband and I like to go the the Charcoal Chef periodically. Sometimes we order "take out". I believe more than 90% of the time, we order the NY Strip Steak with a baked potato. It's always good and simple. We enjoy it. When we feel like having a pre-dinner cocktail, we go to the restaurant and eat there, instead... More

This is a great place to eat! The food was excellent and our server was very attentive & courteous. I hadn't been there in the last 15 or so years, since I moved from the area, so this was a nice treat. Will plan on going back again on our next trip up.

This is a very nice little country restaurant. Unpretentious and quaint with just plan good cooking! I love the deep-fried Cornish hen (I know, I know fried foo is bad... but it's REALLY good). I also really like the grilled trout - two whole fish with skin - (and that it's really healthy eating). We are local and we drop... More

When we moved to Woodbury a few months ago we knew absolutely nothing about the town. After a long day of moving furniture and boxes we needed some food. I checked out tripadvisor and decided that we'd grab some burgers at Charcoal Chef since it was close by and had great reviews. We almost walked out the moment we stepped... More

The office voted on the Charcoal Chef to celebrate the recent National Hamburger Day. We'd never been there before, but we all thought a charcoal-broiled burger was appropriate for the occasion. Overall, this is a pretty cool restaurant. I liked the country-themed decor and the simplicity of everything. The burgers were very good, as well as the sides. I thought... More

Been coming here for years. A truly nice place to eat and meet friends. Food is good. Prices good. Best burgers around with real charcoal cooking.

this is a good place for a quick meal. we usually just get a burger basket. It seems to be mostly an older crowd of people . the restaurant has been here for ages.

I lived in Woodbury for many years and the Charcoal Chef was always one of my favorite places for a good down-home lunch or dinner. I still go back whenever I'm in the area visiting friends. It's a welcoming old fashioned kind of place -- beer, burgers, homemade soups, great fish and chips, good pies and rice puddings for dessert.... More

The food is good. Family friendly and toddler friendly. If you are looking for reasonable prices you can't beat it.

Have been coming here for years. Although it has declined a little it's still a great place to get a great burger, fries and a real milkshake.
