Going back in time for dinner

This place has been around a long time. The House and Inn itself are a throwback to a simpler time in Connecticut. Like the year 1754. That's when it opened as an Inn. They offer classic New England fair. This place has been a family tradition for my wife's family. I think they've been... read more

Here in an old Inn, you'll be offered all the favorites including turkey dinner with all the fixin's, prime rib, meatloaf, Shepard's Pie, chicken pot pie, etc. The way to go is the 3 course meal, soup or salad, entree, dessert. While you wait, enjoy a small relish tray for the table. All the food is very hardy and tasty.... More

The food at Curtis House has really improved over the past year. We were recently there and had the most delicious stuffed shrimp dinner...the best part was that we got it on the senior menu. If you haven't been there in a while, be sure to give it another try. They also make the most delicious pistachio martini!

Went with friends for early senior sized dinner. The server was friendly and did fine with our cocktail orders! Two of ordered the meatloaf wrapped in bacon and with onion relish. It came with delicious mashed potatoes and very good mixed vegetables. The meatloaf was dry, hard and had probably been cooked the week before. It was covered with three... More

The restaurant has a nice atmosphere, warm wooden walls, large brick fireplace, comfortable seating - maybe they should stop there. My wife and I went there on a Friday night, were seated promptly and the very young and inexperienced wait staff introduced themselves to us, We ordered cocktails - I had a martini with olives which came out without olives,... A trip to the Curtis House is like a visit to nostalgia. The restaurant is quaint with a nice fireplace and cozy atmosphere. The raw clams are perfect. So is the onion soup. The turkey dinner is a bargain and delicious to boot. Don't miss the parfait. It feels like Sturbridge Village in your own back yard. So worth a... More

Good dinner, still serves cottage cheese and relish first. Salad and house dressing, creamy dill, good. I had the calves lived with carmelized onions and bacon. Tender and flavorful. Where can you find this on a menu. Creamy mashed potatoes and carrot also flavorful. My husband had the fish and chips, three big breaded filets. Waiter said it was cod... More

Having dined many times at Curtis House years ago I recalled that it served excellent traditional American food, That is just what I wanted for this Holiday We were delighted to find it was still so. There were three of us and we each chose the turkey, agreeing that it was delicious, as were the sweet and mashed potatoes, vegetables... More

We have not been here for a while and decided to give dinner a try. They have several menus to choose from including a "Senior" "3 course"0& "4 course" etc. I had scallops over pasta that was good and my partner had a single pork chop that she enjoyed. We both had salad with the house Dill dressing. Its very... More

Immediately after the "makeover" we were very disappointed. This time the menu was updated closer to the original, with a 3-course one price items. Food quality was greatly improved and the waitress that has been there forever was just as pleasant and refreshing as she was 30 years ago.
