I WANT to love this place but I think I love the idea of it. Gold's is an iconic Westport fixture. We have been going there for years. EXPENSIVE. Reasonable quality BUT absolutely nothing special. Thin, expensive deli sandwiches (corned beef etc) that look like they were thrown together are definitely not worth the price paid. I don;t find the... More

This place is consistent, consistently bad. Every once in a blue moon I give it another chance and they never fail to let me down. I use to eat there all the time. Now there corn beef is dry, there bread is stale. Even their chicken salad which use to be a staple is now unrecognizable.

The staff here was so rude it was amazing. I'm from New York so I'm pretty used to attitude but the guy at the deli counter taking orders was so snobby he must've thought he was working at a fancy French restaurant. Sandwiches were incredibly expensive and I was made to feel uncomfortable by a sandwich maker. Definitely never going... More

I like places like this. Authentic food, nothing fancy but good portions and great Pastrami, corned beef and turkey. Hey they make it there! Crowded, no fuss, no muss. At least the waitress was friendly compared to what you get in NYC. Once you cross the NY border its hard to find the "real deal". Westport is lucky to have... More

I happened to be in the plaza to get some stuff at CVS and decided to have sandwich from Gold's. Very disappointed!!!Staff are not friendly and the sandwiches are literally "gold" very expensive.

Went there with a friend to have lunch. Even though it was crowded for Holiday shopping, we were given a table quickly and had a very nice lunch. The made me a vegetarian sandwich and my friend had matzo ball soup which by the way was excellent. Good food, good service, little crowded and noisy but worth the visit.

On Christmas eve we stopped in Southport at the market for a Buche de Noel, and I went in to the sandwich shop next door promising my wife a Pastrami to share. They don't have Pastrami so I got another sandwich and my wife nearly blew a gasket on the way home. As we drove down post road I had... More

I have not had a dissappointment there yet. You sit down, ask for food, they bring it, you eat, you pay and leave. It is "ordinary" at its best. Nothing makes it stand out. They have "ordinary" down to a science. Hungry? Go to Gold's.

Gold's is a small deli in a strip mall with a takeout counter in front and a small restaurant in back. They have a large selection of sandwiches. We had the smoked whitefish and the corned beef, along with matzo ball soup and a kasha knish. The sandwiches and soup were very good; the knish not so much (it was... More

It’s no Katz’s, but for half the price and a lot closer to home, you get a decent pastrami sandwich. The matzo ball soup is also very good – some of the best I’ve had. It’s got a great ‘NY Jewish deli’ feel to it. It’s simple with some tables in the back and old style service with staff that... More
