Best Bagels in Fairfield County

Gold's is an institution in Westport, CT. I've been a customer at intervals for the past 35 years; the decor (and I use that word loosely) is unchanging. The counter men and the wait staff are real pros, good at their jobs and friendly. I don't live in Westport, CT now but invariably stock... read more

Sometimes I just have to have a corned beef sandwich with matzoh ball soup and a sour pickle. Gold's never fails to deliver a delicious experience. I'm sure their other food is great, but when I can have corned beef why order anything else? My family loves sour pickles and when we have a family get-together coming up and I... More

There is always a line waiting for food and always 4 people in the back making the food, and a few more up front sacking up your delicacies. Everything is fresh fresh fresh. For Jewish food, this is the only place to go in Fairfield County.

long term employees and an outrageously broad selection, including babka from Brooklyn that can't be beat. worth going out of your way (just off the Merritt Parkway). Enough tables but crammed at lunch. Call in your list and they'll have everything ready for you.

Pastrami on rye. A lean pistrami sliced thin with munster cheese, sourcrout russian dressing sour pickles on an onion roll toasted, amazing taste and add a small portion of potato salad and your all set for a delicious treat. The place smells deli from the time you walk in and are greated by the friendly owners and staff. Hot dogs,... More

Gold's came highly recommended. We looked forward to a New York deli experience in Connecticut without having to travel to the city. We ordered a brisket sandwich on Portuguese roll to eat in the deli. Our waitress was friendly and helpful, but the food was a huge disappointment. Not only was the meat overcooked and dry, it was barely edible.... More

Have been using Gold's for about 40 years. It is the best deli we have ever done take-out from. The bagels, bread, lox, cold-cuts, etc is the best. Consistent over the 40 years. Eating in the restaurant section is always good. We moved away from the area, but still stop in when we are passing through.

Went with my teenage daughter. I had tongue and corned beef. With that combo, you know I know delis. Daughter had pastrami. Both sandwiches were good and a fair portion for the price. Bunch of regulars were there. Pretty friendly. They bring cole slaw beforehand. Pretty good, not great. I will be back. Will try the knish, a true test.

We go here every weekend to pick up bagels and either a chunk of white fish or some tuna salad. And, I have to get a big container of their health salad for the week. The owners and staff are wonderful and they have a great rapport with everyone. Earlier this year they changed purveyors of their health salad and... More
