Excellent and fresh seafood cuisine . A great place to frequent even in the colder months. Comfort food, amazing clams and we simply love the fresh linguine and original clam sauce juice (au ju) as an entree! A family delight !!!

We typically go here when someone wants a lobster and had not been for a year. We always liked the food but now it was better than before. My fried oysters were excellent, the steamers top notch and my daughters Maine lobster "was much better than the Long Island ones". They have tried to spruce up the place by adding... More

We re-discovered The Mansion Clam House recently, after frequenting it 15 years ago when our kids were really little. It was/is a very child-friendly place and we love seafood. It is still low-key, friendly and you can get a good (not great) seafood meal here. They have a good deal for 2 lobsters if you sit at the bar. Nice date... More

Mansion House is a legacy business for those who don't know. It may have changed hands but the name is the same and the expectations are too. I haven't been in ten years and was excited to visit but I read the Trip Advisor reports so my expectations were measured. I assumed though since the last several months of reviews... More

It's been a while since I've visited this venerable establishment. Service has waned since then. Maybe my visit was an off day...or breaking in new staff. Ordered lobster roll for lunch and was brought tartar sauce? - no melted butter? Bland taste. No one asked me how food was There was only one other couple in the restaurant. Had to... More

As the lone seafood eater in my home I have a tough time getting the family to go to a predominantly seafood restaurant, but because it was Father's Day I was able to choose where to dine. I have some great memories of this place over the years, going back to when the only menu was on a chalkboard in... More

The Mansion Clam House has really gone down hill. We have been going there for years and always had a good meal served by a friendly staff. We were there on June 15 for dinner and could not wait to get out of there. Got water and bread right away from a bus boy, then waited and waited for our... More

Maybe I am getting picky in my old age Or maybe i am just a great cook, not chef just house cook, maybe because my roots are from Spain and Italy...but, a plain salty lobster roll not even cooked in butter no parsley or shallots or white wine...we ate it because it was 22$ but a hint of butter would... Mansion Clam House has been in it's current location for years. My feeling it remains in operation is because you get a decent meal around a friendly staff for a good price. Westport has many better eating establishments where the quality and freshness of he food is directly related to the cost. Mansion Clam House has a good amount of... More

Waiter handed one person of our party an old menu with a lower price for an item, then announced that he would be charging us more since the price had gone up. We asked for a simple substitution on a salad and he said that would be another $2, which we said was fine as well. I work in customer... More
