We always find some time to return to the Mansion House when in the area. Returned again this past weekend and we not disappointed. Great food.

My fiancee and I were looking for a good seafood restaurant for lunch recently and decided to try this restaurant for the first time. We were a little concerned if it was fully functional as the main door was not working and the waiter summoned us through an interior door where there was construction. Consistent with previous user reviews of this place, we had a wonderful fresh seafood lunch. Casual and cozy, not far off the interstate, I would not hesitate to dine here again if passing through.
We visited Mansion Clam House for lunch yesterday after reading that the restaurant had won awards for the New England Clam Chowder and Fish & Chips, so we sampled both. Food and service is good and especially the "Fried Clams" - delicious!!!!!! Located near the river provide nice scenery. Mostly fried menu by the lobster chowder is also very good. A quaint and nice New England Type Restaurant.

I visited this restaurant twice on my last visit to CT; and you always wonder if you'll be disappointed when you return with your mouth watering for something -- in my case, their lobster roll. Fantastic! As was their lobster bisque and cheese cake.
tasty, fresh, simple seafood delivered in a cozy, relaxed environment. classic new england charm. i like this place a lot.
Despite its location on Long Island Sound has a dearth of good seafood restaurants so for our money after trying most of them Mansion Clam House is the best around. While the place is not elegant the seafood is fresh and good and the service is quick and attentive. Go for the steamers and the fried clams.
Service was excellent, and Joe got us a table reserved before we arrived and we had called 20-30 minutes ahead. The food was delicious: one pound lobster, Maine steamers, mixed green salad, New England clam chowder, broiled scrod, crab cakes.
