This is a good joint, it serves good to very good pub food in a causal setting. The only caveat is that the food isn't excellent only very good at best. We started with the cajun shrimp, good and fresh but overburdened by deep frying in a dark crust that overwhelmed the shrimp. The crab cakes were good but, again,... More

We have enjoyed many clam platters over the years in various locations. This is the first platter I could not finish although it was awfully good... We want to come back and try some of the lobster dishes too. They were overly generous with the clams and the price was very reasonable. Our server was very attentive and pleasant. I... More

Go to the Black Duck - it will remind you of what is good about small old run down bars and diners... Really good simple food, a great vibe and live music - with inexpensive drinks... What more do you want...?? Oh and the floor does slope naturally....

My wife and I rode out motorcycles up to this cafe with high hopes. It's a salty place with a long bar that faces a canal not quite under route 95. We ate at the bar. The bar tender was grumpy, seemed like working there was the last thing he wanted to do. We had the clams casino (very chewy)... More

I had seen Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives at this long established fixture in Westport, CT, and said that one day I'd get there. Am I ever glad that I did. It's exactly what it says it is, a great place to have good drinks and fabulous pub food. Get there early as the place fills up quickly.... More

This is a dive that shows you how good it can be to eat at dives. Noisy, crowded, and it's built on a barge, so the floors are uneven, but we've always had great friendly service, and food that is what it is supposed to be.........Great Dive Food!! The burgers are amazing, you can make a meal out of the... More

And, that's a good thing. The " Duck" has a special place in the hearts of Westporters oung and old and it has earned it. Nothing fancy here but the good ole bar food and strong drinks. Professional bartenders know how to cocktail up. Burgers are top notch as are their appetizers like clams casino among others. I wouldn't wander... More

The last time I went to the Duck, one of my old haunts, the experience was not good. Surly waitress, rude bartender, and mediocre food. What happened to the Duck? Oh well, I'll take my business somewhere else, and I am sure they will not miss me.

This place has been around forever, and still hasn't fallen into the river, which makes it a Saugatuck institution. The food is not gourmet, but you don't come here for a fine dining experience in your suit and tie. Even if you did show up in a suit and tie, the locals and staff are very welcoming and will treat... More
