I hate to let the word out about this gem but I think I've struck gold! I went with a friend on a Thursday night. The place started filling up about 7:30 but the service never skipped a beat. They were very accommodating and friendly. By the way, even when it was the most full, we could still hear each... More

First of all, this is a small place next to a carpet company, so the charm is mostly on the inside, which will make you quickly forget all about carpets and the vehicular madness on the Post Road. The proprietor is an ebullient Italian gentleman who is rightly proud of his food and has a good word for everyone. You... More

They accommodated our party of 6 without a reservation on a busy night without a problem. The half a chicken is wonderful-- waitress described it as "Sunday dinner," and it was.

You might not notice it from the street, but Pane e Bene is a real find. Delicious Italian food, lots of photos and posters of La Spezia, good service from the wait staff and the bar. A very welcoming ambience. Definitely worth the effort to find -- and enjoy.

We read the good reviews for Pane E Bene on TripAdvisor and decided to try it ourselves. We were seated promptly at our reservation time. We ordered the Grilled Octopus and the Burrata as our appetizer. The Octopus dish was huge - much larger than expected and both tasted great. We ordered the Branzino and the Sea Bass (special) as... This was our first visit to Pane e Bane in Westport, Connecticut and we found it to be a true winner! We were introduced to the restaurant while visiting special friends in Westport, Ct.... when we arrived they told us they were taking us to their favorite restaurants in town. And now, I must tell you, it has become our... More

We enjoyed the food here very much, but a restaurant experience is not just about the food. The service was also excellent. My only two peeves are how tight the tables were together and how noisy it was. That said, I would go back.

The food is excellent, standard and as well as some not so well known Italian fare. Their specials are truly special featuring recipes I have never seen before and definitely worth ordering. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. The owner will greet you and come by to ensure you are well taken care of. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming.... More

Angelo Capponi owner runs a wonderful restaurant. The food and the service was excellent. Every time I travel to CT, I'll make a stop at Pane e Bene. We were 6 people and they said arrive in 30 minutes, then we can fit you in on this Holiday weekend. Definitely a busy restaurant with big groups of people. Everyone enjoying... More
