Great Neighborhood Bar atmosphere

Very nicely decorated with a homey neighborhood bar feeling! Went for lunch and had their 10 oz. burger cooked perfectly to my med.-rare. Fries very good. The other lunch was a Cobb salad with turkey, ham, cheese rollups with an excellent dressing. The rice pudding foe dessert was very good. A... read more

Duffy's is a return to the days when neighborhood bars served inexpensive drinks and great food. My wife and I had an excellent dinner last evening. The soup was delicious; the entrees fresh and tasty. Service was outstanding. We will certainly return.

Lunchtime and there was no problem getting seated. They have a deck on the front of the restaurant for those who want to eat outside and people watch, but we chose inside. I ordered the French Dip which was huge and came with a large and tasty side of fries. My husband had the Filet Crostini that he thoroughly enjoyed... More

Duffys Tavern in West Haven is one of the yummiest, cleanest, friendliest restaurants in the state. I have been eating at this establishment for over 20 years and have always had a great meal. One of my all time favorite meals is the shrimp ceviche. Delicious!!!! I could eat it everyday. 5 large shrimp served in a martini glass with... More

Let's start with the appetizer. "Ceviche style jumbo shrimp" - NOT! I was anticipating ceviche. The description listed on the menu stated "cilantro lime marinated shrimp tossed with fresh chopped tomatoes, onions..." Glorified shrimp cocktail is what was presented. Jumbo shrimp (boiled) hanging on the edge of a martini glass with ceviche mixture in the bottom of the glass and... More

Dear Madame, Thank you for taking the time to review my restaurant. My sincerest apologies for your unsatisfactory experience at Duffy's last month. I agree with you that the Ceviche-Style Jumbo Shrimp description is a bit misleading, and I will be editing this on our next menu, though I will tell you that it's the first complaint I've received on... I recently visited this restaurant with high hopes after reading reviews on this site. I'm a sucker for a good Irish pub and have been to quite a few across the country over the years. My experience at Duffy's was anything BUT a good night out. The "scenic view" on the outdoor seating is of a side street with city-block... More

Dear Sir, My immediate apologies for your seemingly horrific experience. However, as the owner of an establishment that has had an exceptional reputation for over 30 years (maybe longer than you've been alive), I find that I must defend Duffy's in this particular review. First of all, you did not visit us on a Friday night like you posted. You... More

Duffy's is a pretty good place to go to. We've been there several times and the food and drink are well worth the trip. It's not a bad "watering hole" either!

This bar and restaurant has one of the classiest atmospheres on Campbell Ave. Definitely yummy. I love the buffalo tenders with the house dressing (even though I tend to be a blue cheese girl, this non-ranch house is really good!) and my fiance always gets the Irish Wolfhounds - two hot dogs in buns, slathered with mashed potatoes, bacon and... Visited here a few times. An Irish pub type of restaurant. Nice wooden large bar and separate restaurant dining area. Typical Irish menu. Moderate prices. Nice portions. Parking in back of restaurant and across the street. Beach nearby for a walk on the man made walk along the beach after dinner.

In town for a class and was looking for a bite to eat and a few cocktails. Bartenders were awesome....they put on the hockey game when I asked and offered suggestions of other places in town. The coconut shrimp was perfect!!!
