We have gone to this restaurant at least six times a year for the past 8(?) years. We have had lunch and dinner here. I am not the most daring eater - I tend to stick to meals that are not to spicy, etc. I don't usually drink alcohol with my meals, so I don't take advantage of the BYOB... More

My wife and I have been coming to Saray for a number of years. The food and service has always been excellent. It is always a treat to go there. You can tell the food is well seasoned and prepared with great care. The sugar cookie dessert was a great and delicious surprise.

Recently redecorated serves traditional dishes including lentil soup. Beef chicken and lamb are popular. Watch out for the hot peppers that decorate each main dish. Save room for a baklava style dessert.

This is not the best place you could eat Turkish food but since there are not so many other places in CT, this place is better than the others. Food is not the best but good. If you are planning to order mixed grill, ask before you order cause you might not get what menu says you'll get. And since... More

O can only write about this restaurant for lunch. Lunch specials are very good and relatively inexpensive. Service is friendly and good. Food is as good as I've ever had in a Middle Eastern restaurant. Try the Iskander kebab. If you go for enormously sweet, their desserts are excellent. Why not 5 stars? They are reserved for astounding places. Saray... More

There is a fairly wide variety of international places to eat in the New Haven area. Many choices, lots of competition. This is a good thing. We have eaten Turkish food in other international cities (e.g. NYC). We have some basis for comparison. 1. Pleasant staff and service 2. Mostly authentic setting - environs and music 3. A complete dinner... More

Stop reading the reviews... Go eat here immediately. When you arrive, get an appetizer and then get the mixed grill entree. Finish up with some hot tea and desert. Don't rush... Take your time and savor the flavor.

One of the few places that I go to that I can count on to be excellent. The service is up there with top line restaurants. The food is very good and if you've never had Turkish food, you need not worry. The waiters will assist you with ordering and you will be pleased with your meal. They even have... More

The name "Saray" means "Palace" in Turkish. This jewel in the rough is my favorite Turkish restaurant in Connecticut. The food is authentic, fresh, tasty, and abundant. Their prices are somewhat reasonable and, although they do not serve alcohol, they have a liberal BYOB policy. Note: When you do bring alcohol (as I do), prepare for angry glances from some... More
