Good food, authentic

I have been to the restaurant several times and think that it is a bit better for dinner. The most recent lunch seemed a bit skimpier than I recall. The selection is good and the quality is too. Not much ambience, but a laid back and comfortable place for meat eaters and vegetarians. Chicken... read more

Best Turkish food in town. Enough choices for vegetarians as well. Mixed grill is terrific. Other lamb dishes are also great . My favorite is Adana Kebab.

This is a tiny little place but the food was delicious. Humus was good and the bread was hot. Shishkabob was tender/tasty and there was plenty on the plate for the price. The waitress was very sweet. This will definitely be a go to place when visiting son at school.

The Turkish Kabab House is my favorite restaurant in the New Haven/West Haven CT area. Most of the patrons seem to be from Turkey or other Middle eastern countries. My favorite main dish is the chicken shish kabab but they also have a great lamb donor kabab as well as vegetarian dishes. For appetizers they have haydari, baba gannouj, humus,... More

This restaurant is located across the street from New Haven University. My wife and I were somewhat familiar with Turkish cuisine and really enjoyed dining here tonight. Our daughter also thoroughly enjoyed her meal which was evident by her willingness to devour a perfectly prepared charcoal grilled Sea Bass. I had an excellent grilled Trout. The only minor point I... More

Our Sunday lunch for three was very pleasant. Both eggplant appetizers were very good as were our felafel plate and two vegetarian entrees. Vegetables were not over cooked, portions were large and the home baked breads were warm and fresh. Only off note was the hot tea served in a glass without a handle. Difficult to hold and seemed rather... More

We are novices at Turkish cuisine, but have had several enjoyable meals here, trying out foods that are new to us. Decor is unpretentious, waitstaff are friendly and helpful with suggestions. Service is efficient, but there is never a sense of being rushed. Red lentil soup is so good and warming on a chilly evening. The falafel appetizer and the... More

Of the several Turkish restaurants in the area, this is the least pretentious and it has the best food. A warning, however, the kitchen is inconsistent. Sometimes the food is unbelievably good, yet other times, it comes out dry and overcooked (as it did on my last visit). The menu is good. food is well seasoned, prices are reasonable, and... More

Fantastic place to have a great meal at a fair price. I have tried other Turkish restaurants in the area BUT I always return here because it is an excellent value. The eggplant appetizers are our favorites as well as all the kabob offerings. Save room for desert; you will not be disappointed.
