I tried the new spot last Wednesday after a drink at Tisane. This is more of an international grocery store, that serves fresh food at a counter in the back. Ordered a falafel and a lamb gyro to go. Both were freshly made to order and very delicious. Lots of homemade Greek and Turkish deserts and sweets. The food was... More

Ditto prior reviewers. The food is wonderful and homemade and served by an outstanding group of guys. A class act with wonderful service. The Falafel is spectacular and the gyro’s are very good as well. Finish your meal off with the Baklava and some Turkish coffee and it is impossible not to be happy.

You will be warmly welcomed as you place your order and treated as part of the family even on your first trip. The deserts are incredibly good as is the Falafel Sandwich, I have not taken advantage of their extensive assortment of middle eastern food but everything is presented in a bright attractive display. Tangiers has always been an active... More

And the new location has more seating (still not enough), with tables both indoors and outdoors in summer. Although I stop in for Falafel about 4 times a year (I'd happily eat it every day, but I can't afford a new wardrobe), and always leave with a bag of groceries I pick out while waiting. Great place for middle-eastern specialty... More

Tangiers actually just moved to a new and improved location about two blocks down on Farmington Avenue at the corner of Kenyon Street just over the town line into Hartford. The new location allows them to put a couple of tables out in front of the store in the warm weather. Inside, Tangiers has also expanded its food service. In... More

The brothers that own Tangiers are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and there are many interesting food products to buy. The baklava is incredible and not to be missed!

We decided to try this place based on the great reviews. We have really been into turkish food lately, and my wife is obsessed with falafels so we were hoping this would meet our expectations. We walked in and were immediately greeted warmly by the man behind the register. We poked around the market area a bit. They have lots... More

The old Tangiers was in a space that used to be a pharmacy with a lunch counter. The new Tangiers is a few blocks away and once upon a time was a Cheese 'N Stuff. Still run by the same brothers who are always pleasant and incredibly courteous and kind. Thank goodness their old "seasoned" felafel pot made the move,... More

I used to live near Tangier's first location when I was a grad student at Hartt, and fell in love with it then. The new location is only bigger and better. Service is friendly and courteous. And the food is delicious. Falafel and baklava will blow your mind.
