Tangiers actually just moved to a new and improved location about two blocks down on Farmington Avenue at the corner of Kenyon Street just over the town line into Hartford. The new location allows them to put a couple of tables out in front of the store in the warm weather. Inside, Tangiers has also expanded its food service. In... More

The brothers that own Tangiers are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and there are many interesting food products to buy. The baklava is incredible and not to be missed!

We decided to try this place based on the great reviews. We have really been into turkish food lately, and my wife is obsessed with falafels so we were hoping this would meet our expectations. We walked in and were immediately greeted warmly by the man behind the register. We poked around the market area a bit. They have lots... More

The old Tangiers was in a space that used to be a pharmacy with a lunch counter. The new Tangiers is a few blocks away and once upon a time was a Cheese 'N Stuff. Still run by the same brothers who are always pleasant and incredibly courteous and kind. Thank goodness their old "seasoned" felafel pot made the move,... More

I used to live near Tangier's first location when I was a grad student at Hartt, and fell in love with it then. The new location is only bigger and better. Service is friendly and courteous. And the food is delicious. Falafel and baklava will blow your mind.

If your look for some amazing international food this is the spot. I got the eggplant parm and it was amazing. The family running the place are very kind and considerate.

Soon to be relocated, so if you want to try the best falafel in Hartford County, keep an eye out for when they move down Farmington Ave to Hartford. Such an amazingly nice, sweet, loving family owns and operates this landmark. Always a friendly greeting and besides the falafel, their other Middle Eastern dishes rock. Dolma is a favorite among... We ate here for the first time yesterday after going to nearby Elizabeth Park for the Rose Festival. What a find. This middle-Eastern grocery store also serves made-to-order food, including some of the best falafel I've ever had in my life. Fresh, delicious ingredients and very nice portions. The stuffed graped leaves and hummus were great, but the falafel wraps--big... More

I highly recommend Tangiers Market - a middle eastern market with a fantastic selection of items and fresh food made to order. The falafel is well known to be the best in the area and it did not disappoint. It was perfectly spiced and prepared to perfection right before our eyes. I also recommend the baba ganoush. The grocery area... More

This is a cool Mid-Eastern grocery store but they make an awesome falafel sandwich!!! The wrap the falafel in a warm pita with fresh veggies and taziki sauce. It is SO good. The sandwich is good size. I usually get the stuffed grape leaves to go with it. Perfect lunch! I also bought some eggplant salad that was very food.... More
