This is a cool Mid-Eastern grocery store but they make an awesome falafel sandwich!!! The wrap the falafel in a warm pita with fresh veggies and taziki sauce. It is SO good. The sandwich is good size. I usually get the stuffed grape leaves to go with it. Perfect lunch! I also bought some eggplant salad that was very food.... More

This international supermarket has a great selection of Israeli and middle eastern foods, I always come here for my specialty food shopping. The falafal to order is just above average, its nothing special but it is made to order in front of you and it is fresh. The hummus to bring home is above average. Friendly workers and a place... Tangiers is first and foremost a Middle Eastern grocery store, but tucked along one side is a delicatessen/grill with counter seating and two tables behind the refrigeration cabinet, so don't expect a lot of atmosphere. It is more akin to the take out Asian restaurants with 4 tables if you insist on eating there. However!!! whether you order take out... More

They have good gyros and falafel but, portions are very small. You need to get somethingelse to be full. There are some counter seats to be able to eat inside but, it is not appetizing setting. They have a wide rage of middle eastern groccery and very friendly people.

Wow. Stopped 4 hours into our 10 hour drive to Maine. Gyros, falafel, baked eggplant, baba ganoush (smoky flavor?--stuttering over the wow factor), baklava. All excellent. Friendly, accommodating service at this family run shop. We will be back on future trips!

did it take me this long to try Tangiers? I've lived in CT forever and for some reason just decided to try it this weekend. The gyro was amazing!! I also got a small quinoa salad and lamb stew to go for lunch the next day. Both were delicious. Just kicking myself for not trying this place sooner. My return... More

I've been going to Tangiers for years. The family that owns it is wonderful, making the service personal and professional. It wouldn't matter if it was your first visit or your 100th, they would greet you as a friend. The falafel and baklava are out of this world and always worth the trip. I have never had anything else on... More

First time I got a falafel. Ate it in my truck as I drove. Finished. Turned around and got another. IT WAS THAT GOOD

I'm usually disappointed with most falafels in CT. Not here! Followed the advice of other TripAdvisors and gave it a shot and will be going back for sure. The pita's are fresh and for real, a slight chewiness -- none of that half stale pita pocket crap from the supermarket that tears. The falafels were freshly made, crispy on the... More
