We were in West Hartford exploring the downtown area. Across from Starbucks we spied the Shish Kebab House of Afghanistan. It looked from the outside like a small, hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The menu looked good so we went in. The front window area is just the base of the staircase. The restaurant is on the next two levels up and quite... More

We ordered Beef Shammi Kabob and it was the best one I've had in the recent years. Our server, Monic was really helpful and Courteous. I hope she gets appreciated by the management. Overall, if I do visit this place in future, I would definitely visit Shish Kebab House.

The food was fantastic! Filling yet not heavy. We had the Mantoo and the Chicken Shammie Kabob. Both dishes were really delicious, flavorful, and fresh. Went here on a date and was surprised how much I enjoyed it. The food was different but delicious. We shared different small plates and it was a fun evening. Service was good.

My wife and I always enjoy dining at this family-owned and operated restaurant in West Hartford Center. There are a number of great restaurants to choose from here, but the cuisine here may be the most unique! From the expertly prepared kebabs -- we've had the chicken, salmon, and beef -- to the marvelous sides, we never leave hungry! Of... More

Hello, Being an Afghan i myself did visit the restaurant today, the Samosa was good rest the Qabuli Pulaw was not even closer to what we have in Afghanistan, the potato was used instead of eggplant & it was not cooked properly ( was raw). The Manto was full of onion normally we don't stuff it with as much as... More

The leg of lamb and sultans entres are delicious. Food always comes out hot and good portion size. The food is spiced to perfection. The wait staff is very friendly and accommodating . We asked for extra bread and to change tables and there was no problem. Overall a great dining experience and for lunch prices that are around 10-13... More

I love Afghan food and was excited to try here. This is the only Afghan restaurant in the state of Connecticut. 1st of all the Sambosa's seemed like they were frozen and reheated no afghan spices. The bread came with butter and wasnt the true afghan bread. They had no Korma's which are very popular. The entrees came and they were very bland.Almost... More

If you visit or live in the West Hartford, CT area I highly recommend this restaurant. The authentic middle eastern / afghan food was out of this world. Great selection of drinks and appetizers. The food portions are perfect and the food prepared is great. The atmosphere is Wonderful. They also have a sister area which is a hookah lounge.... More

Excellent food, quiet and relaxed atmsophere and an overall zen food experience - quite refreshing in comparison to the typical hustle and bustle of the West Hartford restaurant scene.
