Always dependable, consistently very, very good. It is a bit pricey by Hartford area standards but always worth the money. We celebrate all special occasions at Max.

This restaurant offers the best filet Mignon in the area and I have tried many others. The service was great and the prices high but you can't beat their meat!

Although the oysters are delicious, Max's Sunday night supper was simply terrific. Shannon's great suggestions and service brought us super crab and mahi mahi plus an amazing fluke special. Oh and the lemon tart and toffee pudding desserts were great, too.

Food was very good and well-presented. Waiter was just attentive enough. Atmosphere was busy but pleasant. We were in a booth with friends and enjoyed conversing.

I had dinner here last night with a group of 10. Clearly neither the waiter nor the kitchen was prepared to handle a group of that size. Service was very slow. Not all of the appetizers came at the same time, one diner had to remind the waiter to bring his, and judging from the waiter's expression he had completely... More

I love this place and try to go here mainly for lunch whenever I'm nearby. The meals are always consistently excellent and the staff is great along with a fine ambiance. Their new chef, Hunter Morton, is A-one. I try to attend every Max Lunch Club luncheon which they hold about 6-8 times a year.

We celebrated our anniversary with dinner at Max's Oyster Bar. We had a wonderful meal, and the service was outstanding.

Max's only fault is the fact that it is loud---the food is always good and the bar is always busy-- These is always good selection of fish and specials-- It has a great location is West Hartford center (which is a hot spot in the summer)

New Englanders are very picky about fresh seafood. A trip to Max's will not disappoint. Besides the areas most extensive seafood menu, few restaurants can present such an extensive wine selection. You will also find a very knowledgeable and professional wait staff.

We had eaten at Max Downtown the previous evening and found it excellent. Only luck brought us to another Max restaurant the next day visiting Hartford. It was great. Each of us had different lunch dishes and all eere excellent. The service was excellent. I would definitely go to any Max restaurant.
