Had a wonderful meal. Service was professional and friendly. My husband had a rib steak and I had the veal and both were very good. It is not inexpensive but is a great place for a special occasion. Loved the atmosphere and the beautiful tin ceiling.

Date night dinner... FLOP! Called for reservations and was told 6:30-7 should work... Perfect! Clearly no need for reservations... Place was dead! Waiter was very nice... Bread was average, butter hard and cherry peppers were served. No oil or fixing for an Italian restaurant? Jared peppers.... Ordered the clams casino which was tasty. Husband ordered a dirty martini... And a... More

Based on the reviews on here and on what locals tell, this must have once been a great restaurant. The ambiance and prices sure still reflect that. The food not so much. The inside is really gorgeous, old dark wood booths, tin ceiling, a massive, marble clad bar, it has a lot of old times charm. When we went there... More

Our family, twelve siblings and their significant others often meet at Diorio in Waterbury where we grew up. Our parents used to meet friends there for dinner when we were children every time they got a night out. It was always a special occasion for them. In the last ten years, the sibs met there to have dinner before or... More

Diorio's is an historic restaurant in Waterbury, CT. Years ago the wait staff all wore tuxedos. The booths were originally designed so that people could sit in privacy and not be seen...especially the back booths. The bar up front is a piece of art with its dark polished wood and wall mirror. My family enjoyed many delicious meals over my... More

We were looking for a restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at, and this was right next to it. Right off the bat, I liked the decor, which included lots of wood, and the fact that there was a keyboard player there adding to the ambiance with nice background music. The server was very knowledgeable, and the wine... More

Very expensive for what you get. Food seems to have gone down hill as well as service. Food is still OK but $40 steak should be outstanding.

This is a place not to be missed. Awesome service from Sarah at the bar. Amazing food. Historic place. I felt like I was in Boston North End.

We ate at Diorio prior to a play at nearby Seven Angels theater. Antipasto was well presented and good for 2-4 people. The two of us took it down! Table bread came with hot cherry peppers a nice surprise with zing. The chicken and pasta were cooked with true Italian flair. The best part of the meal was the top... More

You don't get decor like this anymore. The high back booths are nice, especially if you want to have an intimate dinner without anyone looking over at you. The service was great, drinks were nice, food was good but not the best. They need to wow me with the food to get 5 stars. A bit pricey. Need more healthy... More
