Not as good as it was ...

Been going here a couple of times a year for over 10 years and there seems to be a downhill slide. Our last visit was awful. The food was not well prepared. The fish was presented in a murdered fashion. Too bad as this is a local icon with a great bar to enjoy a drink at. Probably will try... read more

Don't be fooled by the unimpressive awning entrance because this is a fine restaurant. I loved the atmosphere - intimate mahogany wooden booths offer privacy and an air of romanticism, The staff was attentive and friendly- a real plus. The food was amazing. The raw bar sampler was a huge selection of oysters, clams and shrimp, served elegantly on a... More

One of the best Italian meals I've ever had. Excellent place and great ambiance!! I would make the drive from Boston to CT just to go to dinner.

We treated ourselves for new years and were not disappointed! We read the reviews beforehand (thanks all you TripAdvisor reviewers!) So we knew it would be pricey. But we would pay it again in s heartbeat. My sea bass literally melted in my mouth and my husband's steak was perfect (after only one refire for too much pink). The waiter... More

I have eaten here at least six times over the past several ears and both the food and service are very consistent. I would recommend a booth or private room for a great experience. Save room for dessert!!

Its most likely the most romantic spot near Main St. Its menu is full of Italian favorites, and specials that will make you smile. Portions are on the large size and the staff is friendly. We changed our reservations several times due to medical complications and each time was accommodated without a problem. We were out of town and the... More

We love to go to Diorio's before taking in a show at the Palace theater. If you can, request a booth. The booth makes for a nice intimate dinner. Be sure to make reservations - especially on show nights. We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed.

I've been here about 7-8 times in the past 2-3 years. I always raved about how good it was. Recently, for the first time, it was not a good experience. It took 10 minutes to have the waiter take my drink order; 15 minutes to receive my drink; the food was lukewarm at best; and it took another 10 min... More

Amazing. This is an old world Italian restaurant. The best of the best, if you want amazing food and good drinks this is your place. The atmosphere, service, food and drinks are spot on!!!! We have never had a bad meal and have visited over a dozen times. Diorio's beats any restaurant we have been to in Connecticut.
