Still searching for the elusive perfect homemade redsauce!

Very pleasant. Good food, nice atmosphere. It was a little cool the night were visited, however looking forward to going back and eating outdoors.

There is nothing like this restaurant!! The food is outstanding.. nothing on the menu is bad. it is traditional authentic Italian food. The service is outstanding just like the food and the owner is so personal and introduces himself and goes out of his way to make sure things are great. The stuffed long hot peppers are amazing! The pasta... More

This is my family's go-to restaurant for special occasions. Not a bad item on the menu; special shout-outs to the (enormous) chicken parmigiana and the veal Michael Anthony. On the pricier side, but a great value for both quantity and quality.

This fabulous little jewel of a restaurant is not to be passed by. Everything on the menu is a culinary delight. We shared the colossal shrimp appetizer which was plenty for 2 people, (although we both wished we had gotten our own)! The pasta dishes tasted just like your Italian grandmother cooked them. The wait staff is young engaged and... More

Went on a Saturday night- had reservations and we were seated right away. The service was impeccable. We were asked at least three times how our food was, if we needed anything, even how our dessert and dessert cocktails were. Extremely friendly and truly care about their customers' experience. The food was the best I've had at an italian restaurant... More

We tried this restaurant for a second time only because my husband liked the chicken parm on our first visit. It was a much better experience this time. The service was very attentive; everyone was working as a team. The bread was delicious. I had the lobster ravioli and it was tasty. My only criticism is that the ravioli could... More

The salad and main meal were very good (chix parm and cavetelli, sausage and rabi). The red sauce was tasty too. The bread seemed a bit stale. The service was very slow but the waitress was personable and apologetic. The prices weren't too bad. Soda was reasonable and each entree ran about $2.00 more than the local average. If our... More

Far be it for this Scotch-Irish guy to tell an Italian how to cook but in this particular case, I have no choice. Based on a recommendation of the hotel front desk folks at the Hampton Inn in Waterbury, CT, my wife and I decided to give D'Amelio's Italian Restaurant in Waterbury a try for dinner. I must say that... More

The veal dishes are exceptional. The prices are fairly reasonable. The service is a bit amateurish but gets the job done. It is a great choice if you're in the area.
