We had a family gathering for an evening. Glad to have called ahead for a reservation as the tables were all full. Service was slow as each meal was freshly prepared, but we were out for the social gathering as much as the fine food so we felt unrushed. The pasta was homemade and all entrees were prepared well. Dinners... More

This was my families favorite restaurant! We couldn't wait to drive through wtby to stop here! Never again...first the waitress dropped a glass of soda on me, you would think she would offer us a free appetizer or a free dessert. Nothing!!!! Plus she charged us for the soda she dropped on me, and 7 more. She kept asking my... More

My family spent an afternoon and evening here to celebrate a family member's engagement. We have spent many similar afternoons and evenings here over the years and this is the first time after this restaurant has remodeled. Waterbury natives will recognize the location as "The Plaza" area, which isn't the best to begin with, but the remodeling is pleasant enough.... More

Recently I saw the above on a sign in a local repair shop and chuckled. It came to mind when I read the review by Rae1 below. Exactly our sentiments. She made 3 points which are also ours. First, we went for a visit and "had very little meaningful conversation; we were mostly yelling to each other. So much for... More

My wife and I have been going to San Mariino's for years. It's always been a good place to have a nice Italian meal. They recently remodeled the place so we decided to have dinner with friends. We liked the old place we love the new San Marino's. the place is very modern and comfortable, great atmosphere. The menu was... More

San Marino's has been our 'go to' restaurant for many years. They recently began a long overdue renovation, but I was not impressed during our last visit. The noise level was overwhelming, and the restaurant was less than half full. My husband and I had very little meaningful conversation; we were mostly yelling to each other. So much for a... More

Years ago, my wife and I had our rehearsal dinner here. Over 20 years ago, I had dinner here with my parents and great uncle (who was a paratrooper in Normandy on D-Day) and my great Aunt, this time, just days before I went into the Marine Corps. My family and I have had many an impromptu or special occasion... More

Went to dinner on a Sunday night and not many people were there which was unusual according to our waitress. The atmosphere was fantastic, the place large, and they played Italian music as we entered the restaurant. We were seated in the garden area with a few other patrons and I bet the main dining room is filled to capacity.... More

A Waterbury native suggested San Marino. Located behind a nondescript building the restaurant is bright, airy with plenty of seating. There is a family atmosphere, which is represented in some of the menu items that have family portions. The food was very good, portions were large. Very friendly staff. Will definitely add this to my list for Waterbury area restaurants.

Met with friends for drinks and light fare. Mid afternoon. Had a large delicious Caprese and the bread basket contained bread so good, one of our party asked for a small bowl of spaghetti sauce/gravy to dip in. Two Italians, myself included, pronounced it the best marinara sauce we have had outside our family kitchen as we dipped our way... More
