Great meal, great service

I recently had my company Christmas party at the bistro. If you asked me for one word to describe our experience at the bistro it would be: OUTSTANDING. This is a comfortably styled restaurant with a good, diverse menu. Good place to have dinner if in town. A bit pricey but not a bank-breaker, and worth it.

We had five in our party and everyone's meal was delicious!! The lobster bisque soup was, by far, the best any of us has ever had!! Large chunks of lobster in a flavorful creamy base! Very large portions, so we all had at least another meal to take home. Baked stuffed shrimp were very big with tasty crabmeat stuffing! Other... More

This restaurant is fine dining at it's best. Everything on the menu is well prepared and presented by a professional staff. The atmosphere is very comfortable. It is quite pricey, but if you watch for their full dinner special, it is then quite reasonable. I recommend the veal dishes, or salmon when it's fresh. (just ask them}

This restaurant would have been a one star if the lobster bisque would not have been so outstanding. The chicken parm was the typical frozen and deep fried tasteless kind you find at a cheap restaurant. The sauce was bland. Portion was large but not good. The rolls were fresh but the butter even lacked flavor. I was the only... More

I had the pleasure of dining there on several occasions on my trip back up north. If you love French onion soup then Brass City's is a must. Towered high with thin fresh fried onions and gob's of gooey creamy cheese, almost a meal in it self. Main course's are prepared fresh using only the best ingredients. Small quaint and... More

First time visit to the Brass City Bistro, very nice! Nice menu with many good selections and a terrific atmosphere with wood and brass decor. Meals priced reasonably for the quality and volume of food served.

Looking for a restaurant as we traveled through Waterbury, we checked out the reviews and decided to stop into the Brass City Bistro for a late lunch/early dinner. Before we had a chance to sample the food, by the looks of the prices on the menu, we could have been in one of the high priced Italian restaurants in NYC.... More

5 of us had lunch on Saturday afternoon. We had martini's (pomegranate was good)and wine. Our meals included lobster bisque, which had a nice hunk of lobster meat, angus burger, grilled chicken with roasted pepper and cheese and broccoli rabe and sausage. Everything was very good. Would recommend and will return!

I wish I had ONLY ordered a bowl of bisque (I had a salad and a cup of the lobster bisque)... The salad was fine, nothing special, but the bisque was outstanding!!!! The service and ambiance was good as well. Don't expect to be back in the area in the foreseeable future, but would definitely go back!!
