It's a good thing this restaurant is outside the reasonable driving-for-dinner radius or else we'd be here once a week. This was probably our third or fourth visit to Sultan's Turkish Restaurant, located in a repurposed Friendly's. On each visit, the staff has been exceedingly pleasant and attentive, and the food is consistently delicious. We were first "turned on" to... More

I noticed this restaurant while strolling nearby my hotel. My first thought was. "Could there possibly be good Turkish food in Waterbury, seriously?" I am glad I decide to take the chance and dine at this fantastic restaurant. I was quickly greeted by a smiling friendly hostess and noticed a live solo musician playing traditional mid-eastern style music which really... More

Unassuming outside, but a trip to Turkey is on the other side of the door. Generous portions - the mixed grill and app sampler are enough for 4 and an excellent way to try the very tasty food.

Although the atmosphere is definitely not appealing (inside or outside), the food was incredibly good. We had a late lunch and ordered the cold appetizer plate and mixed grill. Both were delicious - also the bread! Prices are reasonable, but not inexpensive. My only complaint is that the waiter should have told my husband that the small appetizer plate would... More

We were planning to go to a SHEN YUN Dance performance in Waterbury and researched what restaurants to go to afterwards. Sultan's Turkish was tops on the list. It was about 3 to 4 miles east of the Palace Theater. The parking lot was a mess of cars. People were coming out by the dozens because of insufficient room inside... More

After enjoying lunch here, I brought my wife back for dinner last month, on our way to New York. If you are someone who judge's a restaurant by the bread, then this will immediately be your favorite. The complimentary bread offered at Sultan's is as good as any I've had, anywhere. My wife had falafel's which she decreed to be... More

We go to sultans as much as we can. The food is always fresh and the service is always respectful friendly and attentive. Get the lamb shank when it's on special and always get the beyti! It is unbelievable

We've often passed this restaurant while driving along I 84. We decided to stop for lunch last week. The exterior isn't much to write home about. The interior is tasteful Turkish decor, with tables and booths. Our server was very friendly, helpful, professional and gave suggestions. My husband and I shared the cold appetizer...a delicious array of 6 dips/spreads including... More

The excellent food was similar to Greek, but with subtle differences in flavoring. Our group of 5 sampled many differenct dishes and all were delicious. The bread was fabulous. Portions were generous and prices reasonable. Service was great. Decor is rather ordinary, but we were there for the food, and left happy.

First time having dinner here - and it was outstanding. The restaurant is always clean. I think people don't know so much about Turkish food, and to be honest neither did I. The menu is clear and has explanations of what everything is. I had the Sultan's mixed grill. It was mostly lamb, but there was some chicken as well.... More
