Food is tasty but overpriced for Waterbury. Felt like an outsider as we sat in the bar area. Wait staff did a nice job as they worked together seamlessly. Due to high prices, we usually only go there for the appetizers. I've had the tuna and it's delicious but it's $30.

Waterbury isn't a booming metropolis and overall doesn't offer a lot of good options for a meal. La Tavola, however, consistently offers very good food with amazing portion size. Whenever I'm in the area for work, I schedule meals here. Friendly staff, a little slow sometimes but worth the wait. Make sure you make reservations even on a Monday.

We started lunch with a bowl of home made chicken broth, escarole egg drop soup. Good soup. Diane had Rigatoni Bolognese classic meat sauce, fresh ricotta, pesto she changed out the rigatoni for Spaghetti. Diane said it was one of the best she had in a long time. I had Linguine with shrimp, olives, capers, slow roasted tomatoes, arugula. The... More

Food and service was very good. But, we got placed in the basement and the noise was awful. We sat next to a party of 15. I think they were lawyers because they were all speaking at the same time. We couldn't have a conversation at normal voice level. It really ruined the dinner. Maybe they should have a private... More

I love the food at this restaurant. The appetizers and entrees, although on the high side, are good. I have been to this restaurant four times, twice with dinner groups and twice on my own. Both times on my own, the 1st reservation was "lost" and the 2nd time they had the time wrong. They sat us at a miniscule... More

They seated me in a corner in the basement. The atmosphere left much to be desired especially based on the prices.

The food was good, not great but good. Service good. Atmosphere good. Problem is the value of what you pay and what you get. The value is not there. For what you get it is very expensive.

I had the opportunity to eat at La Tavola before attending theatre and the food was wonderful! I was not impressed by the exterior of the restaurant but the moment the bread and the olives etc. arrived, I knew we were in for a treat. Everrthing was excellent. Try he coconut cake dessert - it's divine!!

This is a very popular place, but after eating here we don't understand why. The food was okay, but not worth what they charge. We were seated in a basement room that was dark and noisy. There are much better choices for Italian dining in the area.

This place is fabulous! Every item we tried was great from the simplicity of the cheese choices to the more adventurous selections. Am psyched to see the Town Plot area having this restaurant choice to give true meaning to Waterbury's Little Italy. Wine list was great, waiters have been great. Only issue was the bartending (poor attitude), but we were... More
