I recently visited an area in Waterbury apparently rich with Italian restaurants. Of the lot, I chose La Tavola and was not disappointed in my choice. A terrific menu, reasonably priced for the quality and volume of food received. The presentation of our meals was excellent and the food was delicious. The service was also outstanding. The only issue was... More

My wife and I had chose this restaurant 2 months in advance due to the Tripadisor reviews and the proximity to the show we were going to see after dinner. The location of the show was within 2 miles of the restaurant and started @ 7:30 pm. I had reservations for 6:00, thinking that 1 hour would be plenty of... More

Decor - Very nice Service - excellent Size - small Food - Exceptional This restaurant has a couple of the dishes that I would put against some of the best restaurants in NYC without paying through the nose. If you go here, you have to have the lasagna and tiramisu. The best I have ever had and I have eaten... More

This is a wonderful restaurant . Anyone that has complained simple doesnt have a noise for food or the ambience of a nice restaurant. First of all , Dont go to any restaurant with 10 people and write a review . Its unfair. My experience with La Tavola has only been superb and I can compare the dining experience to... More

I have eaten at la tavola 5 times now- in large groups and with my husband. The food has been fantastic every time but the service has been completely horrible each time. It is as if the waitresses feel like smiling or being friendly is beneath them. If i was the manager i would not hesitate to get rid of... More

Waterbury isn't a booming metropolis and overall doesn't offer a lot of good options for a meal. La Tavola, however, consistently offers very good food with amazing portion size. Whenever I'm in the area for work, I schedule meals here. Friendly staff, a little slow sometimes but worth the wait. Make sure you make reservations even on a Monday.

We started lunch with a bowl of home made chicken broth, escarole egg drop soup. Good soup. Diane had Rigatoni Bolognese classic meat sauce, fresh ricotta, pesto she changed out the rigatoni for Spaghetti. Diane said it was one of the best she had in a long time. I had Linguine with shrimp, olives, capers, slow roasted tomatoes, arugula. The... More

I love the food at this restaurant. The appetizers and entrees, although on the high side, are good. I have been to this restaurant four times, twice with dinner groups and twice on my own. Both times on my own, the 1st reservation was "lost" and the 2nd time they had the time wrong. They sat us at a miniscule... More

The food was good, not great but good. Service good. Atmosphere good. Problem is the value of what you pay and what you get. The value is not there. For what you get it is very expensive.

This is a very popular place, but after eating here we don't understand why. The food was okay, but not worth what they charge. We were seated in a basement room that was dark and noisy. There are much better choices for Italian dining in the area.
