Warm cozy atmosphere, great and varied menu, excellent service. Had the crab cakes and a craft beer or two...what a wonderful stop thru the Connecticut countryside.

As many other reviewers have noted, there has been a drastic change in what used to be a reliable restaurant, with attentive staff, and good food. All has changed and we won't be back -- not worth the 20 minute drive from New Milford. We were a part of four and everyone of us was disappointed. Portions were smaller than... More

We had lunch outside last weekend. Two tables had dogs with them ( NOT Service dogs) . im not even sure if the health dept allows dogs in enclosed outside seating. I could almost live with that. BUT one table brought in a dog cage and it had in it a Mini baby pig. It was making pig grunting noises.... More

I stopped here after hiking. Ordered a veggie sandwich with a really long named beer ( some kind of pale ale) and both were very good. Also, the deck has a beautiful view. All in all it was a very good experience.

Just had the most enjoyable dinner last evening. My husband and I did not have reservations, however, the hostess was able to seat us promptly at a lovely table overlooking the river. Wait staff was extremely courteous and prompt. Our meals were beautifully prepared, served at perfect temperature and in large portions. All menu prices are extremely reasonable!

My girlfriend and I drove over to the GW Tavern from New Milford. Since the weather was nice we elected to eat out on the patio. Coincidently we both chose the beef tips for our main course, not much you can do to ruin beef tips. The service was prompt although their weren't very many people there yet since it... More

Had a late lunch today with my wife and was very pleased. We ate outside and the view of the running water in the creek and a cool breeze made for a wonderful setting. I had an excellent bowl of chili and my wife had crab cakes. Both were excellent choices made with fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed a flight... More

We live 40 minutes away, and come here once or twice a year for special occasions. So far, we always enjoyed it, but not so much this time. The atmosphere is still nice, we sat outside on the porch, overlooking the river. Food was mediocre at best though. I had only a spoonful of my french onion soup, they made... More
