40 Years and still the best

Before taking in a show at the Warner Theatre in Torrington on Jan. 23, we had dinner at the Venetian. We had eaten there many times before and it was always good. This place is over. It was pretty good (never "great") but acceptable and reasonably priced. Now, it's over priced with low quality, horrible service and the most exhausted decor in town. Time to close up shop, me thinks. And thanks for the memories.

Often in reading reviews, we note the promise "We'll be back," and wonder if it actually happens. Since our last review, my wife and I have been to the Venetian over a dozen times. No need to repeat what we and others have become accustomed to; excellent food and service and friendship. Yes, it's all there. Rather, I'd like to... More

If you are looking for real Italian cooking made with fresh ingredients then hurry to the Venetian. The atmosphere and the staff add to the fine dining experience. Their homemade pastas and sauces are excellent! You will not be disappointed!

The Venetian is (and has always been) the place for fresh homemade Italian food in the NW Corner of CT. Every dish is carefully prepared and served by a wonderful wait staff. I am already looking forward to my next meal there!

Michael hosts an old world Italian classic restaurant, and their isn't anything wrong with that! Old world means a courtly, well mannered and professional service and great quality. The Caesar salad is absolutely the best and, of course, prepared at table side with terrific ingredients, including anchovies. The Osso buco is amazing as is the fish and home made pasta!... More

I cannot even count the number of times I've driven by The Venetian Restaurant without giving it a second thought, but we were going to a show at the Warner Theater so we decided to give the Venetian a try. Well that was our first time there but certainly wont be our last. To sum it up in a few... More

Had the chicken picatta, it was like it was boiled in the sauce so the chicken was slimy. And it was really bland. My boss had the veal parmesan and said the same. I wouldn't eat there again.

Visiting CT from FLA. my family took me to the Venetian. First I went online to read the reviews. Reviews made me think twice. We went and found it to be a very excellent experience!! Food was wonderful, and employees were very happy and helpful. Wonderful music played in the background. Very relaxing and would return for another evening.
