nice casual diner

This is a very good diner/casual restaurant/coffee shop. The menu was good and the actually cooked the corn beef hash the exact way I requested it. I was impressed. Cost is quite reasonable and having an autoparts store hardby is a plus for curbside minor maintenance.

They have great sandwiches and wraps. The service is always fast and friendly. Perfect lunch spot right in downtown Torrington.

This small restaurant had an excellent breakfast, first rate service, reasonable prices. Likely the best place in town for a restaurant that's not a chain breakfast.

I was a bit concerned after reading many negative reviews of Rick's as compared with the original owners about meeting a friend here for lunch this week. I an relieved to share our lunch was better than when the former owners held this establishment. The menu offers a good variety of soups, sandwiches, wraps and salads. Our lunches were delicious,... Now under new management. Menu is bigger. Staff is pleasant and very attentive. A little pricey though.

The Nutmeg Grill of Ray and Jenny closed in the Fall of 2014. In December, Rick's Nutmeg Grill opened in the same space, same tables and chairs but totally different menu. This Grill is, well, a diner. Large menu, Sysco (or other service) food service fries and onion rings and rolls. Gone are the homemade bread and soups (though they... More

Well where do you start as the Old Nutmeg Grille is now under new management and is now Rick's Nutmeg Grille. The staff was not aware of the tables or customers, nor the needs of refilling coffee and checking the tables. We waited over 45 minutes to get food, which was nothing special at all, potatoes not cooked. Eggs weren't... More

Wife and I stopped for lunch while traveling to Lenox. Great homemade soup. Sandwiches were very flavorful. Good portions, fair prices. Would recommend.
