Quiet tasty quick, Mediterranean

I've been coming and going to Sarah's pockets for probably five years or more. The same reliable, hot - always served fresh - and tasty food awaits my craving for good Greek food (but I have to admit he also make some of the best french fries on the planet!). If you don't know where to look for... read more

This restaurant is easily overlooked, but well worth the visit, as their food is homemade. Their falafel sandwich is really good. The owners are very friendly.

This is a very good local place for Mediterranean food. All the food is freshly prepared and have nice home cooked feel. It is a small unassuming location which can accommodate individuals our groups u to a dozen people at once. One of the places I could eat every day and still like it. Their falafel pocket is amazing.

Home made Mediterranean food with a smile. I've tried almost all of the food and never had a bad meal. Some complain it takes too long, but they are way too impatient, it doesn't take very long at all, maybe 5 minutes, and remember everything is made to order. Sara makes the food herself. Very accommodating to your preferences too.... More

Delicious and attentive. Summer in Storrs is a little sleepy and quiet but after traveling all day to get there, we were thrilled that Sara's Pockets was still open/keeping to their posted hours . We were the only ones in the restaurant at the time, and the proprietors were incredibly solicitous and sweet, and eager that we have great food... More

Sara's Pockets sells freshly made wrap sandwiches, also plates, including Gyros, lamb kebobs, and other very tasty Eastern Mediterranean combinations. Each item is made to order by the owner and his wife, so there is a lag from the time you order to the time your food is served, but the food always arrives hot, fresh, and beautifully seasoned. Cash... More

We came to this very simple place for lunch on a Saturday and at first were the only customers. I had read the Tripadvisor reviews and so had been forewarned that service would be slow. It was. The owner, while very friendly, moved at a glacial pace, and it took him a good 20 minutes to prepare a simple Greek... More

I just had the best falafel pocket I've ever eaten. And thanks to their neat way of wrapping up the toasted pita this was also the first time I've eaten a pocket without getting it all over my hands. The homemade baklava was also wonderful.

Trusted trip advisor for a lunch recommendation at Sara's Pockets while visiting UCONN. Ordered the grilled vegetable pocket - was supposed to have vegetables and hummus inside a grilled pita. My sandwich had...I don't know what....mushy unidentifiable things inside of it. Could not eat it. One of the worst things I have ever been served. My daughter's sandwich - very... More

Sara's Pockets came highly recommended from all my foodie friends. We ate the spanakopita, gyros, baba ganoush, and the baklava. The owner is as talented as he is friendly! :) I only wish there was a little more atmosphere to the restaurant itself in terms of decor. Be careful climbing up the stairs to the place too, the staircase has... More
