Delightful!

Having never been to Connecticut, we were there for a college visit. Went to Dog Watch based on Trip Advisor's review and we were not disappointed. Thursday April 16 was a glorius day in Connecticut...especially after a winter or horrendous weather! My husband and i had an errand in Stonington and took a drive there from Southbury. On all the roads we traversed there was plenty of traffic .everyone wanting to get out and enjoy the day. We have not been to Stonington in some time... More

We stopped in Stonington on a recent trip to the area to park and walk around like we have many times before. Since it was coming close to lunch, in a discussion with someone we met while walking, he confirmed what we had read online: The Dog Watch Cafe is "where the locals go". So, we made it a point... Good food. In the top 5 NE calm chowders I've ever had. Great flatbreads. Excellent lobster BLT on ciabatta bread. Pricey but good. I would return and recommend.

Stopped here after reading the reviews and could not be happier. There is a wide mix of customers. You'll see everything from Harleys to Porsches in the parking lot. Once you get in side tho it's all about great food and great service. Honestly some of the best service we've had in quite some time. The burgers are excellent and... More

Whenever I head to Mom's I insist that we have a night at the Dog Watch. Had the Fried Whole Belly Clams and Mom had the Fried local Scallops...then we swapped half the food. For April, the scallops were outstanding. The clams were good, not the best ever due to the long winter.

Love to go here. Sit outside in the warm sun. Play a game. Sit inside with friends. Order something new, I can try anything. Always good. Interesting conversation and people. A great local spot.

I visited the David Bareford Gallery at the Velvet Mill in Stonington and afterwards, I and asked him to recommend a place for lunch and this was IT. What a winning combination of great seafood and great view, even on a cold day! The chowder and the lobster roll were delicious and the service was warm and friendly.

Last summer's visit was definitely a 5, but last week's lunch was a disappointing 3 .... Very blah service, uncaring, no smiles, plates were kinda dumped onto the table & completely ignored a mentioned that it was a birthday celebration. Lobster ravioli special was very good, but the key lime martini didn't even have the listed graham cracker rim, the... More
