Warm and Comfortable

The Long Ridge Tavern is a great local restaurant with comfort food , a warm fireplace ( in the winter), out door dinning ( in the summer) and lively music on the weekends. The food is consistently good, predictable in quality and quantity.

if you're looking for a square meal on a cold night, yes. it's out of the way, and if you live nearby i could see making this a go-to destination. i think one of the reasons i wasn't thrilled -- we were seated in the smaller dining room, it was filled with folks our age... 60s... so the atmosphere was... I'm sorry to hear your experience was unremarkable, David. We strive to provide you with the best meal, and things like cold coffee is no good. In fact, feedback like yours helps us to be our best moving forward. All in all, we're glad you talk about coming back, we'd hate for that to be your last impression of us.... More

We were a party of 11, and the restaurant was full, so this could have easily gone wrong. But it didn't. We were very well cared for, and cozy by the fireplace. We didn't expect especially creative dishes on Thanksgiving, but in all, everything was very good. The weiner schnitzel, salmon and of course roast turkey were all fine. Everyone... More

We're honored that we could be a part of your Thanksgiving -- that's awesome! Of course, we're especially happy that we could provide a special holiday feast for you and yours, and we're glad that everyone was taken care of like family. We hope to see you back before next Thanksgiving! All the best, Ira, Owner More

Every so often we eat here thinking that it may have improved. The last time we ate here was a couple of years ago, when our kitchen was being remodeled and we had to eat every meal out. This time, it was a rainy night, and we were returning home from a medical appointment in Mt. Kisco. I know that... More

You can imagine how disappointed I am to read this, Regina. We would never want to provide uneven food or uneven service -- let alone both. I apologize to you for your dissatisfaction. However, it is feedback like yours that is most important to us moving forward. It's crucial to hear about what we can do better, and you review... More

On the dark, tree-lined stretch of a centuries-old road in northern Stamford, you come across an oasis of light. The Tavern could be a roadhouse from a time of horses and wagons. We were there for dinner on a Monday for an adult's birthday. We brought a cake for the occasion - that was fine from the restaurant. Food -... More

We love the imagery, Jeffrey. I'm glad you had a good time, and we're honored we could be the place for your friend to celebrate. And of course cake is fine for a birthday party -- we're actually impressed you brought it in. We hope their birthday was amazing and hope to see you back before their next one. All... More

We went the night before Thanksgiving and found pretty mediocre food. The mussels were just average, my burger was awful (how can you ruin a burger?) the pork Marsala and the half duck were barely passable. The place was crowded and noisy with quite a few very young children giving yelps of boredom as they ran around. The waiters tried... More

I'm so sorry to hear this. The night before Thanksgiving is meant to be a stress-free evening dedicated to relaxing before the big day, and it sounds like you didn't get that experience. That being said, it's also the reason for the amount of children. We're okay with having large families with kids in, especially the night before Thanksgiving, though... More

It was a snowy night before Thanksgiving and we were looking for a quiet spot for dinner. I was not anxious to have dinner at the Tavern because I had a disappointing experience in the past. However, it is close by and we decided to try it again. We were pleasantly surprised. The Prix fixe menu was enjoyable, the burgers... More

We're so happy you gave us another chance too, Joan! Second chances are rare in life, and it's great to hear that you were able to get the experience you deserve out of dining with us. So same time this week?? All the best, Ira, Owner More

Was there recently for a private party brunch. There was a good variety of food, everything I tried was yummy, and our waitress was friendly and helpful.

Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but brunch is the most important meal of the week! I'm happy to hear that not only did you spend your brunch with us, but that you enjoyed yourself. Next time, we'd love to have you in for lunch or dinner. Until then, Ira, Owner More

We chose this restaurant because it was a good meeting place for my friend and I who were coming from different directions. From the moment we walked in, we suspected we made a bad choice. There wasn't a hostess or anyone to seat us. The waitress said sit anywhere and we had to get our own menus. The menu was... More

Joann, I'm quite disappointed that you felt we offered you a sub par experience. You're right, you should expect nothing less that feeling welcomed the moment you step through our door. I recently ate at Long Ridge Tavern was really surprised that they offered an Octoberfest menu. I ordered Sauerbraten which came with a salad, beer and dessert. The meal was outstanding, the staff was amazing, and the price of the meal was very reasonable for what you ordered.

Best Octoberfest meal ever? I'm blushing. So happy to read how much you enjoyed your meal. I really appreciate that you took the time to leave us some feedback, and I look forward to serving you a cold beer in the future! Cheers, Ira, Owner More
