Food overall was good, as mentioned in other reviews the decor is a little dated. Food was brought out quickly. I had french onion soup and chicken coq a vin, both were hot when served and tasted good but a little bit on the salty side.

We went to LaBretagne with friends. It is classic French. The food used to be very good. My problem is you get Classic French attitude as soon as you walk in the door. You are not warmly greeted and taken to a table. That's not even acceptable when the food is great. The food here is good, not great. Anything... More

The menu and food was great. Attention was a bit slow. Atmosphere was very quiet and ideal for having a good conversation. Wine list is excellent.

There is no other place around that serves a meal like La Bretagne. Quality food and service that you can't find elsewhere. The top four choices are all finished for you table side. Duck, Rack of Lamb, Dover Sole and Baby Chicken. I also highly recommend the Lamb and Pork shank. They have the best oysters and a fantastic yet... More

Everything you want in a great steak house - fantastic steaks, professional service, nice surroundings. As the salad that comes with your steak order drizzled with blue cheese is very good there is no need to order an appetizer. The desserts are so large that one portion can serve four.

I haven't been down that area in years, but for my daughter's birthday, it seem like a perfect thought to go. She is 16 and loves fine dine, but most "French" restaurants are tending to go more "fast food". I was very pleased to see that the place looked the same, kind of nostagic of sorts. The service was just... More

I don't get there as often as I'd like (driving distance & traffic) but it's still the best restaurant I've ever been to. The food is outstanding, the service is outstanding, the ambiance is old country French--not a single negative here! They now offer a fixed price lunch ($24 a person): appetizer (large selection), soup or salad, entrée, coffee/tea. Portions... More

I have been coming to this restaurant for almost 30 years and still believe they serve the best french food in the state. Beginning with the owners, Jean Daniel and his charming wife, the service is always consistent and professional. The food is exceptional and, by today's standards, reasonably priced. It is always prepared perfectly and served by an experienced... More

Why is the excellence of this restaurant not widely known? La Bretagne still prepares fine food right at your table side, unheard of in these times. The quality and consistency is superlative. Their duck with wild rice prepared and carved at your table-side is the best I have had anywhere including NYC. Baby chicken, rack of lamb or dover sole... More
