Delicious French Food and Warm Ambiance

Really a lovely place to have a memorable dinner. You should not be in a rush; your dinner should be the main event. Total cost more or less $60 USD per person.( 2016) It is certainly possible to spend more ( especiallyif you choose an expensive wine), but the basic entree prices are in the $20... read more

This restaurant is a must if you would like to experience Old World atmosphere, warm friendly service, and authentic French food. Go when you can relax and really enjoy this place. We have tried most of the appetizers in the past and they are all good. The duck with orange sauce is delicious and the sole we had was excellent.... More

Had dinner with friends at this restaurant last evening. This place is an "institution" that I had never visited. I loved this place! There were four of us and we started with Shrimp Cocktail, Escargot and Gazpacho soup. The Shrimp Cocktail came with diced beets and a tangy cole slaw...delicious! The Escargot was well seasoned in garlic and butter and... More

You don't need to go to Brittany for authentic French food. From the soups (we tried a rich French onion and an exceptionally tasty mushroom soup) to escargot or coquilles St. Jacques as appetizers, to seafood crepes or veal cordon bleu as a main dish, everything is delectable. The house dressing is creamy, very tasty. If you ask for bleu... More

We went with friends who have used this restaurant in the past but we were very disappointed, the service was OK but very slow, our starter was average and both my wife and I were looking forward to Dover Sole but how disappointing it was, over cooked and dry and when we complained we were told this is how our... The building is old, the decor is old, the menu is old. But at least the food is half way decent. In true French form, there's lots of sauce and cream in their dishes - so not somewhere I would personally eat on a regular basis. I am sure their staff have been with them for years and I am... More

Yes, a bit old fashioned but that's one of the things I really like about La Bretagne! The food is delicious (French comfort food for sure)! The staff is wonderful and Michelle and Jean are so welcoming! Feels like you are home. We always go on a Friday or Saturday and the restaurant is full with what seems to be... More

I was there for a business dinner. Old restaurant, old looking, just old. Food was eh- had salad, fish dish and dessert. But I have to say the service was excellent and the waiters were so nice. Too bad the food wasn't better.

Food overall was good, as mentioned in other reviews the decor is a little dated. Food was brought out quickly. I had french onion soup and chicken coq a vin, both were hot when served and tasted good but a little bit on the salty side.
