Description: When seeking an exceptional dining experience, Stamfordites need look no further than their own backyard. At The Capital Grille in Stamford Town Center, dry aged steaks and 20 year-old Scotch fortify Fortune 500 power brokers and power shoppers alike, while refreshing cocktails and irresistible appetizers delight patrons of the Palace Theatre and Rich Forum. Clearly, distinctive dining is not reserved for that larger city down the road. As a charming young lady once said, there's no place like home.

This place is all about quality food and great service. Food and drinks are expensive (drinks $10+, steaks $40+), but food portions are large and can be shared. Parking available either in a nearby garage or by valet. Very classy bar area. Nice place.

I am a fan of Capital Grille. I have eaten at locations in Florida, NYC and now the one in Stamford. I enjoyed my experiences at all of the locations except Stamford. I went there for lunch on Thursday, January 15th. I was expecting good food and great service, which is what I have usually experienced at other locations. I... More

If you need to impress someone who loves the NY steakhouse experience but don't want to go to NY, Capitol Grille is the place. They have the usual assortment of quality seafood and aged steaks that are cooked well and served by somewhat formal but efficient servers. It has that clubby feel that screams closing dinner. If you want a... More

I've eaten here a number of times - sometimes on date night with my wife, sometimes on business and sometimes with the kids. Very consistent - good food and service (I would say consistently excellent service). While its clearly not a "kids place" - they are good with the kids - willing to go off menu to accommodate.

A restaurant for consistently good food. It's part of a chain and they all adhere to the same formula. Prices are high but that doesn't seem to have any affect on the numbers of business lunches and dinners. For those paying their own way a good place to go for the occasional steak.

New Year's Eve found my husband and myself in Stamford visiting our cousins there. They recommended this restaurant when we asked for somewhere "special". Our cousin knew the place well and asked for a certain type of table when he reserved. When we got there, on time, we were kept waiting quite a while, as those tables were not ready.... More

I wanted to share an experience I had at Capital Grille in Stamford, CT. onTuesday, Jan 6, 2015. Our firm had our holiday luncheon there, as we have had in the past several years. Our food was absolutely delicious. Three of my coworkers decided to take home the remainder of our meals to have for dinner. What we discovered was... More

A nice cut of meat, and well prepared. Spinich I could barely eat, as I imagine once frozen green cardboard might taste. Lovely formal setting but not a formal place judging from the attire of the guests. Service which tried too hard and failed: lots of "absolutely's" and a "shall we wrap that up to go?" And the service was... More

We heard the service here was great and our server didn't disappoint , from the complimentary cocktail before dinner to the handwritten note with our take home bag. Food was also excellent , pricey but very good. We even found a decent wine that was was not over the top in price.... but all told , a nice meal runs... More

The wife and I love The Capital Grille in Boston and have now gone to the one in Hartford many times. On our way home from our anniversary weekend in NYC, we made reservations for Stamford. They did not disappoint. Champagne toast was brought to us. The service was stellar. the porterhouse was probably the best steak I have ever... More
