I was very sad to hear that this terrific restaurant is closing its doors. I don't know why this happened. We have been to Mitchell's so many times and each time it was great. The fish is very fresh. Service is good. Atmosphere is quite nice. There are hardly any true seafood restaurants in Fairfield county so the departure of... More

When this restaurant first opened it was a nice change to have a versatile, but predominantly a Fish menu. At the time, it was good value. Something then changed - smaller portions, inedible vegetables accompanying the dish. The worst experience was that there was something on my appetizer (Asparagus) that I couldn't eat, and I asked if it could be... More

Our second visit to this place. Probably shouldn't have gone, but it was close to where we were. The place was worst than the first time. They had a new menu and were out of our first two wine choices. If you have children, try not to sit near the kitchen. The head cook had a tendency to throw quite... More

I went to celebrate my birthday with a girlfriend in early March 2014- we were informed on arrival that we still had 30 minutes left of Happy Hour which is always good to hear. Unfortunately, when we tried ordering signature cocktails from the Happy Hour menu, 3 out of 4 of the drinks couldn't be made as 'they didn't have... More

My wife and i had lunch here a few times and it was a good experience. The food selection is very good and the prices are okay too. Service was very good and the staff was cordial. A good place to have lunch on a Saturday.

I've never had a bad meal at Mitchell's. Their lobster bisque is fabulous and the fish dishes are always perfectly cooked. On my last visit, there was a bit of a flash fire in the kitchen which was quite impressive, as I could see it from my table. All the systems worked well,, sprayers came on in the appropriate areas... More

We often go to Mitchell's on Friday night's for happy hour-terrific $5 appetizers. Best seafood this side of Cape Code.

The food is very good, never had a disappointing meal. Raw bar's shrimp and oysters are always super fresh and delicious. Lobster bisque and seafood gumbo are both thick and creamy, exploding with flavor and packed with their respected seafood. The bar ambiance is pretty nice, and their happy hour is great. The only thing holding this place back is... More

It has a good location - by the mall, near several other eateries and drinkeries. Wine was great. Top shelf gin. Food very good and reasonable prices. Service needs a little help. We were there around lunch. Not too crowded (wonder why?). We saw two customersat tables in the lounge just get up and leave after waiting for service which... More

On our way home from errands my husband suggested we stop at Mitchell's and give them another try. The hostess offered us the table nearest the entrance, a very busy spot. I asked if anything else was available; she said "near the kitchen, that's even worse." What kind of training must she have, to say that? The many waiters and... More
