Unlike many reviewers, we had never been to the "old" Sakimura. Still, we were satisfied overall with our recent visit. The fish was fresh, good rice, and decent pricing for the valley. However, stick with the traditional mix of sushi and rolls as other menu options fall a bit flat. The calamari appetizer was tough and rubbery, and the beef... More

The crazy sake roll was outstanding! Fairly expensive if you are just getting sushi as an appetizer, but excellent fresh made sushi. A full sushi roll can make a dinner in itself however (about $16). I tried it because of a Groupon promotion and that makes it affordable. Been here twice so far and expect to return. Hope they stay... More

We used to visit once or twice a month, however the business has been sold and the service and food has become a mess. I think Toshi and Meadow are better alternatives

This small Japanese restaurant was known as Murasaki when we lived in nearby Canton ten years ago and it was one of our favorite places. Now, under new ownership, they have not only reversed the name but the quality. On a recent return to the Farmington valley, we found the service unfriendly and uninformative and the food only average. We... More

I used to love Sakimura. Unfortunately, the management change has turned it into a place to avoid. The food used to be great - now it's average at best. Portions are smaller, and many of the earlier condiments (like roe) are missing. But the worst is the wait staff, which the last time was downright insulting and rude. Having frequented... More
