We went to Bernard's for a business dinner. They gave us a nice room (Monkey Room?) that was excellent. Quiet and comfortable for a party of 10. You could close the screen door, so nobody interrupted us and we didn't interrupt other guests with our conversations. We could order any drink that we wanted, so me and my partner decided... More

My husband and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and decided to have lunch at Bernard's. It was a very good choice. The atmosphere was pleasant, service excellent and the food delicious.

My wife and I had not been here since it closed as the old, stodgy Ridgefield Inn more than a decade ago. We heard good things about Bernard's and they proved to be spot on. The décor is more elegant than eclectic, and they had a competent pianist playing on Saturday evening. The upstairs bar was too noisy for us... More

We decided to try the Seven Course Tasting Menu. This proved to be an outstanding decision. There were really a lot more than seven courses. They would bring each one of us different things. We had the option of eating it all or sharing. Even item was cooked to perfection; plated well; and served correctly. I cannot say too many... More

This restaurant is a place to go for special occasions. The food and service are top notch and makes the whole experience something unique. For a more casual dining the restaurant has a bistro upstairs called Sarah's Wine bar which is delightful and has superb food and great wine values

my husband took me to Bernard's last night to celebrate a special occasion. I was at first a little disappointed because the interior is a little drab and stodgy but we were immediately greeted by a friendly, smiling waiter. The service was impeccable throughout the evening. We do not drink -and sometimes at other establishments when we decline the wine... More

Met friends for lunch and had an excellent meal. The prices are a bit high for the area but the food is great. The warm lobster salad was superb and save lots of room for dessert! The triple chocolate and the tart with cinnamon. Ice cream..divine!

We took a visiting French friend to Bernard's. He was so impressed with the food, the wine and the service. He discussed the menu with the waiter in French. He said that this reminded him of his favorite restaurants in Paris. I also enjoyed the food and wine .The setting is also beautiful

Quite simply, Bernard's could do a lot better. We lunched there recently to celebrate a birthday. My dining partner had their salmon, while I had the duck confit salad. Both were acceptable but undistinguishable from the fare at any of a dozen or more Fairfield County restaurants---restaurants that are more accessible and affordable. Despite only four or five tables of... More
