Good cafe for when you want the heartier Tex-Mex fare, and more reasonable than many of the more fancy places that are springing up in town.

Being a local, I wanted to like this place, but after a couple of tries, I can't. The portions are tiny, yet the prices are huge. Not a good combination. Even dishes that are mainly rice and/or beans, which cost next to nothing, are small and pricy. The food is good. It's just not worth nearly that much.

It would be wrong to just label this a Southwestern or TexMex restaurant. Not to sound pretentious, but with a culinary trained Venezuelan chef in charge of the kitchen, it is more like a Southwestern/South-of-the-border fusion cuisine...and fantastic. Our meals comprised the Tortilla soup appy and Shrimp special, Pork Street Tacos and Chicken Fajitas. Everything was served in what can... More

This restaurant has a modern spin on Mexican cuisine. The menu offers a large variety of dishes and excellent appetizers. Great for couples and families!

One of my favorite places in Ridgefield for lunch. A changing lunch specials menu always has surprises. The Chili is truly fantastic. Wish they had hard shell tacos, though. The beer selctiin is good. All selections are fresh and reasonably priced.

We've been going to Southwest Cafe for a couple years and have never been disappointed in the food or service! Food has always been consistently delicious and the waitstaff has always been very friendly. Prices are pretty good for the amount of food you get (love the black beans that come with the meal). You can't go wrong with a... More

Uncomplicated and consistent. I've been going there since it opened, and it is always consistent. Great salsa and margaritas and the food is creative and consistently excellent. One of our favorites!

We enjoyed a nice meal here, sitting outdoors in pleasant surroundings. The outdoor area was a little crowded, but they were able to make room for us (they said they wouldn't take reservations for parties of less than 6). I tried an enchilada-burrito-chilupa combination which was very good: lots of food and really tasty. We also tried the tuna, which... More

Good, consistent food. Service feels harried because of the energy that the owner gives off. That being said, we seem to wind up eating here when we want to stay local for this type of cuisine.

Everything about this place was fun. The food. The pace between courses...not too fast. And the food was excellent -- very tasty; nicely spiced; presented with style. Our experienced server really "knew her stuff" & responded to every request in a timely fashion. Mixed drinks were very nice & beers were nicely chilled, served with lime slices. One plus was...
