Southwest by Northeast

New Mexican/South American dishes- steak chimichurri was excellent. The Red chili pepper infused Margarita (served straight up, no ice, no salt in a martini glass) was truly remarkable. Owner was extraordinarily friendly, and wait staff helpful. EXCELLENT guitarist plays there on Sat nights.

Went for lunch today. Was surprised at nice interior. Music was funny mix of Roxy Music, Alicia Keys, Led Zep, Adele (well, I can like every other song). On a nice weather day I may have felt like I was in a cave, but this was a cold dark winter day so it was perfect. (they do have a patio,... More

Specializing in the New Mexico dialect of southwestern food, this place does right by traditional and more northerly Mexican cuisine. Specially good: enchiladas with "Christmas" (red and green) sauce. Fresh salsa, excellent margaritas. Can be very crowded on weekends - its food has attracted a loyal audience!

I can't help but like the Southwest Cafe but have never been blown away by the food. It's a cute place, lots of nice Southwestern/Mexicana touches and the services is very good, but the food is sometimes very good and other times just ok. I think this happens with lots of restaurants that have been open for so long but... More

This small cozy restaurant feature southwest take on Tex Mex food. In addition to Fajitas and enchiladas there are plates of food with protein beans and salsa. There is ample wine and beer to be had. The service is friendly and there is a guitar player on some evenings. A welcome of salsa and chips await your table. With an... More

We went to this restaurant after getting notified that we were entitled to a free margarita as part of our Buddy Guy tickets to see him at the Playhouse. We arrived around 6pm and was seated immediately in a very nice looking place with a Mexican decor. Place was cozy and clean. The margaritas came right away and were great.... More

This quaint restaurant is tucked away and a little difficult to find, but well worth it! The drink and food were delicious! Everything was homemade. From the salsa and chips to the stew and flautas, all wonderful! The only issue its that I don't live closer! Definitely try it!!

Went here on a Tuesday night with 2 other friends. The location is a bit difficult to find as the sign for the restaurant is completely blocked by umbrellas and foliage so I drove around the parking lot a bit trying to find it (note: it's next to the organic grocery store... just look for all the umbrellas). When we... More

Went for a colleagues birthday. The food was good. We had a special... shrimp taco. It's was $15 and had 4 shrimp and some other items. It was a unique combo. The food had some heat. Again, it was good but not outstanding. Maybe we caught them on an off day. Will try again.
