Description: La Piazza Restaurant & Wine BarNamed after the gathering places in city squares throughout Italy, La Piazza is where folks gather over great Italian food and wine. La Piazza recently opened in the Branchville neighborhood of Ridgefield, CT. Owned and operated by Helen and Demetri Zervos, seasoned restaurateurs with over 40 years of experience, including their popular TAVERN ON MAIN in Westport, CT, their new venture is now a family affair with sons Anthony, John, and Leonardo joining in the excitement of the restaurant world. The Zervos' Mediterranean heritage has had a great deal of influence on the menu, as well as the decor and family atmosphere. The space is divided into a full bar with tables for dining, and a separate dining room, replete with stone fireplace, dark wood furnishings and large bay windows that overlook a bustling Route 7. Every nuance of this modern Italian restaurant has been meticulously thought out, from the black and white photography on the walls to the large library shelves that house beautiful pottery, eclectic pieces of art, and olive oil from the Mediterranean.La Piazza's modern Italian-American menu is created by Executive Chef David Limon Ramaro. Everything prepared in the La Piazza kitchen starts from quality ingredients. It is a true scratch kitchen, from stocks and sauces to house made pasta and desserts. Chef David, offers aregional Italian menu with modern American influences. A variety of experiences can be had at La Piazza from a more sophisticated menu of daily seafood specials, steak and pasta dishes to more casual fare such as cheese calzones, fried calamari, meatballs and even La Piazza's version of a classic Italian grinder with assorted meats, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, and balsamic vinaigrette. To go along with the beautifully prepared food is a global wine list that features a large selection of Italian varietals. Top shelf spirits, creative cocktails, and a selection of draught, craft and imported beers round out the beverage program. An active bar scene ensues from post work happy hour to late night socializing. La Piazza is a neighborhood restaurant and bar that exudes warmth and genuine hospitality.

This spot has had a string of unsuccessful restaurants. We decided to give the latest one a try. We were the only patrons in the dining room on a week night, and nobody else showed up the entire time we were there - not a good sign. The services was very friendly and attentive (there wasn't anyone else to wait... More

Although this restaurant had a shaky start it is now a excellent place for lunch and dinner. I've been at La Piazza three time for lunch and twice for dinner over the last month. All the dishes I've had have been very well prepared. The slice of pizza a stole from a friend was the best I've had in ages.... More

The atmosphere was great and the food was good. It's the first time we've been in quite a while and it was just as we remembered. The food was good and the bar seemed to be lively and fun. We sat for a change with a friend and actually ate in the restaurant! The service was prompt and good. We... More

Dinning room pleasant; hafed filled but steady incoming patrons. Basic & ok. Good service but many people intervened when the waiter wasn't available. Would assume that owners or managers filled in. If busy makes you wonder how service would be. We had a scrumious Caesar salad and then sausage pizza. Very thin (& soft) crust. It was good but I... More

pizza or pasta are really your options. The staff are poorly trained and when they delivered the wrong pasta the server was totally unaware of the error when pointed out to her.

We had tried La Piazza when it first opened. We were very disappointed. Last evening friends suggested we go there since hey had had a terrific meal there recently. Boy were we surprised. We learned from the one, Helen that she had fired the initial chef after 3 weeks and the new chef was her sous chef. My rife nd... More

This new restaurant in Ridgefield is doing well and there is a good reason why. The food, service and ambience was all very good. The menu, while not extensive provided reasonable choices - even small plate options that were perfect with salad. We also ordered from the full menu (lasagna and chicken parmagiana). All were good. Before we ordered, the... More

loved the mussels and pasta, traditional italian well prepared. Good wine list and family friendly. We didn't have a reservation on a friday night but they were most accommodating. The server kept bringing us bread for some reason and we had to tell him to stop but we enjoyed our meal thoroughly

This has a nice atmosphere. The bar is separated from the restaurant and if you want to drink it seems very merry and popular. We prefer the restaurant side. The food is pretty tasty and the waitstaff is personable and friendly. I tried their pasta bolognese and was happily surprised. The polenta is lovely as is the pizza. They are... More
